Just wanted to point out that dayton 8th A might not have impressed you much but remember this they will be just fine. Once the qb is back and they can establish both run and pass game.

Not knocking them, just saying with us being split, I would've thought ya'll would've rolled the South. I thought ya'll looked better last year. The QB Dayton had in there seemed good. He hit a WR on a go route that went right through his hands. QB wouldn't have mattered if the WR's are dropping passes. I still think North beats ya'll. :D

HF 7th Grade A Team wins 24 to 8 over OF, this group of boys for HF are pretty solid and could have a bright future. This was a good first win for these young Shorthorns, good luck to both squads next week. The Coaches and Refs called a good game as well.

A 6th junior high has to be in the works soon huh?  Something out north of I-10?  Then we could give BJS and HMJ to Lee, CBJ and Gentry to Sterling and Highlands and the 6th one to GCM.

I did hear this that one was supposed to be coming. Now that was just from someone who works for the Baytown Sun so you know how to take that. 

 

Two Jr highs that feed each High school here would be great but until you get the coaching right in the Jr highs it wont matter.  Now I will say Gentry's 7th A coaches seemed to have their stuff together.

What is the deal with the two Vidor teams one Black and one Gold. Why do they not have an A & B team like most other schools and play at the same place each week.

The other teams wanted another game and they couldn't find anyone to add to all the schedules. So it was decided that vidor would have 2 different teams play the "A" teams. Without that there would only be 6 games.

I understand. Our B team in Groves only plays 4 games. Why even have a B team if that is all they are going to play but practice as much as the A team. My son is A team but I know a lot of the boys on B that I would like to go watch more often.

Yeah, I understand the "B"teams that are playing Vidor and LC for each week should play one another. It shouldn't matter if you play each other twice, it's all about getting reps in jr high.

I agree. Some of the ones on the B team now may just be late bloomers and by the time they are seniors could be the studs. But if they don't play then how can they get better? Through 20 something years of coaching I have seen it happen a number of times.
