They've played against 1 supposed quality opponent in South Carolina. a@m schedule is fixing to get a bit more difficult. Until they win the SEC West, it doesn't matter how well they do or who they beat along the way. Same for Texas. They can beat North Texas, New Mexico State, and Kansas all they want, but until they stand toe to toe and finally win against a quality opponent, it doesn't matter.

Arkansas would be considered a quality opponent, no? Or does it have to be a "ranked" team? Not being a smart aleck, serious question.

Arkansas is on the way back after being down for several years now. Their brand of football, although not extremely exciting, is refreshing to see. One problem they face is the conference they are in. Maybe the SEC West should secede and start their own conference. How exciting would the SWC be today if several teams had not bolted for greener pastures.

They all count. It wasn't long ago that horn fans were getting all over aggie saying they counted their spring game as a win. Texas might need to petition the NCAA to count the spring game as a win so we'll be able to become bowl eligible this season.

Yeah.  Not sure where all the smack talk is coming from.   Who outside the top 10 has better wins than A&M?   Ouside Bama, since it seems they have found a quarterbck, who has been overly impressive ?  Oregon nearly lost to Washington State .  Florida State has been meh.   Auburn?  Baylor?   Things get sorted out in the next couple of weeks.

Some of you folks are just silly...currently unranked South Carolina did beat currently ranked #13 Georgia...so all of the Aggies victories technically are carrying the same weight.  Don't be haters folks...win and you're in, it's that simple.

And speaking of haters, most of you had South Carolina destroying A&M in week one anyway...where'd that get ya?

Up to this date A&M still has the most impressive victory this season outside of Oregon defeating Michigan State...IMO

A buddy of mine actually built a ranking system of his own for a statistics research project. It does not factor in preseason bias. And it still ranks Texas A&M in the top 10 with the win over South Carolina.

Interestingly enough, his program also ranks conferences and conference divisions. It has the SEC ranked the best conference and the SEC West ranked the best conference division. Ironically, it has the SEC East ranked the worst conference division in the Power 5.

A better description would be non-conference.

Pre-season only belongs to the pro's.

Your friend need to CR his work and sell it to the selection committee. I'm afraid they are going to have their hands full at the EOY.
