badndn Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 We won't see another d like that til real deep So got a tough D and tough O in pre district. Could the combo propel WOS to Jerry World this year? Quote
cougar14 Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Pretty tight statistically but it looks like DT kept WOS in it single-handedly. Good showing against a good team by the Mustangs. http://www.chron.com/sports/highschool/scoreboard/?site=default&mkt=houston&Season=2014&tpl=Boxscore&Sport=1&ID=213648&TeamID=219&SearchType=Teams Quote
Goblin Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 might not see anybody that can hold yall to that the rest of the season in yall classification. Yeah La Grange is it possibly... Celina and Gilmer have no defense and they have to fight it out amongst themselves first. But hey we just held a top 10 5A team 40 students away from being 6A to a 3 point game and were one play away from winning. 2000 vs 600 enrollment pretty much. Can only learn from it. Better than what LaMarque has coming up with HISD. Although would still like to see LaMarque again. And 10th grader Jack did pretty damn well against a big 5A Defensive line coming at him all night. Both teams had tons of negative yard plays. Mr. Buddy Garrity and Gasilla 2 Quote

ladybug33 Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I believe WOS had a chance to win this one. The officials missed a few calls i.e. off sides on Foster's # 15 most of the night. The Stangs should bounce back next week though. Great effort on defense for the Mustangs. One team One Goal! Quote
Gasilla Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 We won't see another d like that til real deep We won't see one period... There isnt a team in 4A that plays defense like that. Reminds me of the LaMarque defenses of the 90's, Quote

Goblin Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 FYI LaMarque 56 Lamar Consolidated 28 FINAL ... not the defense they had in the past. But they are improving. And to this day only two programs have beaten WOS more than once and have a winning record I believe although I'd have to go look up Coldspring and Giddings. LaMarque 3-1, C.E. King 3-1 Too bad not a single team in our current district has a win against us ever Quote

Goblin Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Yep... we're definitely gonna lose it again this year. That's what they said in 2000 when we weren't even ranked anywhere until week 7 and then made the state finals but yeah lost that year too. *whispers staying under radar* Quote

Goblin Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I'm not understanding what the truth is? WOS has made the Quarterfinals 3 years in a row coming up against a once in a lifetime State Champ Navasota and held State Champ Carthage to their closest game of the entire season last year in the only loss. I think that's an opinion not truth. studd88 1 Quote
