smitty Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 In b4 numbers are wrong, Obama is lying, liberal news site, etc , etc Not lying. I'm sure it's a correct number. But... From the article: "Labor Participation Rate Drops To 36 Year Low; Record 92.6 Million Americans Not In Labor Force." This is how they come up with this number! http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-10-03/labor-participation-rate-drops-36-year-low-record-926-million-americans-not-labor-fo thetragichippy and Mr. Buddy Garrity 2 Quote
stevenash Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 In b4 numbers are wrong, Obama is lying, liberal news site, etc , etcWrong- Mr. Obama is an absolute economic genius. Just as he said this is the most peaceful and tranquil time in our history, he has personally engineered a robust recovery. Only problem is, the middle class (for whom he claims to be the biggest advocate)has seen its income/purchasing power decline by more than ever before. Bobcat1 1 Quote
SmashMouth Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 The government reported unemployment rate is grossly misleading. When people get tired of looking for a job, or are too discouraged because of the crappy job market for the last 5 years, they fall off the roles of those considered unemployed. Even though they still don't have a job, that's not considered being unemployed; therefore, you get these bogus unreal numbers. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
stevenash Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 One might also wish to calculate how many part time jobs are being included in the employment numbers smitty 1 Quote
stevenash Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 What the left seems to fail to understand is that a tighter labor market would help the poor and middle class more than a government subsidy. If there were fewer taxes, regulations and other disincentives for businesses, more businesses would hire more people thus raising the demand for employees which, in turn, would raise wages. But, instead, they believe government can make those things happen in a better manner by complaining about the "unfair disparity" between a CEO and the floorsweeper of the same company. If you cut the pay of the CEO in half,( in the name of changing that disparity),it will be of no benefit to the average Joe nor will it make the economy more vibrant. Quote
SmashMouth Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 But what you fail to point out is that government subsidies are the same as buying votes. I guarantee, as bad as the state of the country is in, Obama would defeat any opponent in an election. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. Mr. Buddy Garrity and smitty 2 Quote

Everything is so agenda driven that actually nothing is ever done anymore for the good of this country or its citizens! If anything good does happen that benefits "we the people" you can bet it was an accident and not a purposeful thought out process by those governing us!
