bullets13 Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 HJ has several key players with injuries Hopefully some of them will be ready to go in a few weeks. I know a couple are out with broken bones and likely done for the season... Quote
kicker Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 Hopefully some of them will be ready to go in a few weeks. I know a couple are out with broken bones and likely done for the season... No matter the trash talk between the two teams fans, I hate to hear this about any teams kids. I hope its not as bad as it looks. Wish the kids a speedy recovery. stangx2 and skipper 2 Quote
rykerx144 Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 didn't think this one would be this close?? Quote
rykerx144 Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 let me re-phrase that....I didn't think the HJ new found faithful said it wouldn't be close Quote
JohnnyUppercuts Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 You don't think the other team had anything to do with that I guess. Not saying that at all. The Bobcats gave hj all they wanted. Just the fact that HJ came out that flat surprised me. But a dub is a dub no matter how it looks. Hope HF is ready for HJ to bounce back from what is HJ folks consider a bad outing. Quote
Jwat222 Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 This game was hard on both teams. I understand that BB&J was filled this morning with players from both teams with concussions and broken bones. We (OF) prob lost one for the season too. Quote
Guest Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 I would argue it was for first and third. HJ has the talent and coaching to beat WOS this season. As an HJ fan, I totally agree with WOS fans that yall are the prohibitive favorite, but this is a team that COULD beat the stangs. HJ will come in fresh off a bye week to heal and rest up, and with an extra week to gameplan. Again, WOS should be favored to win against HJ, but if the hawks pull it off, the only people who will be truly shocked are the WOS fans. HJ is the favorite for district and that is without question. Orangefield remains to be seen. There is no one paying attention who is not expecting HJ to beat WOS. Quote

chukslegacy Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 This was definitely a game that possibly shows who your 2nd and 3rd place teams will be in 9 4A DII. Quote

That underdog almost bit them against OF. Must be bird flu going around making these people babble with fever. Riding Solo and chukslegacy 2 Quote

stangx2 Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 l honestly want to say congrats to hj on a great win against a really good team themselves in OF. I hope they both make and go far in the playoffs. Quote

They managed to beat Newton who dominated WOS. Quote

I would not bet my paycheck on it...It just took Newton awhile to jell, plus they probably hadn't seen the offense that they run. WOS see's it twice a season (OF, hj) and also a scrimmage (Vidor). WOS had played so many tough games in a row they just were not ready to play Newton and they played terrific. Regardless of the scores a gauntlet of Silsbee, Jasper, PNG, and Foster, will wear you out. OF is a very good team as is hj, however, it looks like WOS is starting to put things together. Better to peak later in the season than the beginning. Quote

Silsbee is awful this year (for the first time in years BTW), and Jasper is good but not great. Quote

There are many extenuating circumstances surrounding the game. One thing is for certain: Newton dominated WOS, OF beat Newton. That indicates that OF has a chance and ALL of your coaches will be preparing for the game with that in mind. Quote
bedelmon Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 If we are going to judge a team by who they beat, Newton has been "jelling" all along. Maybe Tatum and OF are better than Newton.... Maybe WOS is not....Maybe WOS is just not as good as the WOS faithful think... Maybe HJ and OF are the teams to beat this year....Only time will tell.... I will eat my crow right here for everyone to see.... Orangefield was much, much better than what I expected.... Our special teams has been mediocre at best and OF capitalized on it....Twice! I have faith in our kids, in our coaches, and in our system.... Now HF is next on the list... See you in Hamshire...... Quote

Yeah Newton beat us and they shouldn't have, doesn't mean we are not the more talented team. Means on one night they played better than us. Can we get a video feed of you eating the crow? Quote
