As I told my wife on the way home, the more people the more energy and more fun. I am looking just at the season records from that time frame. '78 1-9 '79 6-4 '80 14-1 '81 10-0-1 '82 10-1 '83 6-4 '84 3-7 Back then the districts were six teams (I think Nederland, PNG, TJ, Lincoln, Vidor and WO-S or Stark before the consolidation around that time). That means there were only 5 district games. If they won all district games from '79-'83, that would be 25 games. I guess in the 1-9 '78 season they could have won the last district game adding 1 more and in '84 could have won their first 3 district games. That would bring the maximum possible to 29 straight wins and only if they won their last in '78 and first three in '84. Quote

Towards the late 70's early 80's the district ballooned to 9 teams. At least by their records. Quote
