I'm assuming you are from Orangefield. If so I may actually agree with what you said except for the fact that we didn't throw the long ball. Not once did he ever throw it as far as he could.

Yes my boys play for OF. My point was that we couldnt keep up with their speed at the reciever position. That is definately our weakness.I believe those passes will be harder to complete against defenders who match up speed wise. You have a good team but it could be ALOT better with a better running attack. You will beat HJ but not by running against them.

Minor detail, but 45 came on one tote. I can understand people trying to dissect our offense, but there was nothing you can say negative about the OF game other than the number of penalties we had. Even without the 45 yd TD run we still averaged 6.8 yds per carry. No running game? When we wanted to run it, we did successfully. Just outran your DB's? We threw screens, stops & outs and completed all of them. Only one pass was thrown for more than 30 yds downfield for a TD with the exception of the trick play. Just wondering what game you were watching...lol

Yall had 182 yards on the ground for the night. 45 on 1 run and another 43 by your qb which were gained on busted pass plays not designed runs. That leaves a running game of 94 yards divided amongst 4 backs. If yall are happy with that then thats great. You have to underatand , we are used to 300-400 yards by our backs until we played yall. Your team won and I congratulate you. Good luck going forward.

Well, I can understand your being used to only running the ball. But, in the spread, your QB tucking and running IS a part of the offense as is breaking off long runs. Even if you take away Jacks 3 runs and the 45 yd run of Teates, you still have 96 yds on 17 carries or 5.6 yds a carry. We'll take over 5 yds a carry. ;)

I wouldn't call it "part of the offense." I think it's more of a last resort that usually doesn't work if you're up against a solid front seven that can contain. But yes, 5.6 yards/carry is not bad at all. What was Dallas' completion percentage?

You never know what can happen on a particular night, so with that said if they all 3 show up to play football and play a really clean and mistake free game whos not to say that all 3 cant make a deep run

That's what would make an upset pretty sweet. Either way, I don't think OF gets the 4th spot anyways, I think they'll be 3 and H-F will be 4. I'm sure no one gave OF a chance last season against Coldspring and hey, they didn't win but 28-14 w/o your best offensive weapon isn't too bad.

 

I don't think La Marque and their juggernaut district is that great this year, but they do have a good record. We shall see once the playoffs start. Since, you know, everyone from that district makes it in anyways.

These teams have not been very good for along time, especially Scarbrough there have been times for years that they did not win any games at all. This is a true conversation,  I was working in the area at the time. A few years back I asked one of their football players have they ever heard of WOS, he said yeah, then I asked him, have they ever played us before, I was joking of course. The young man said "H### No!" we don't want to play them, those people will beat our butts". :lol:  :lol: I just thought that was so funny, he was sooo very serious at that time. If he was a freshmen then, he is still on that team. That team does know about the Mustangs. It goes without saying  Tradition and Respect everybody knows your name. October 31 st,  they better recognize!
