Gabe Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 5 of 6 points i had correct and had picked nederland to win 30-21. Not bad Quote
Brubaker Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Gabe, you get to watch all these teams quite a bit, so I trust you had a good feel for how this one might go down. How folks watched Nederland do what they did against Central, knew Neumann's history against PNG, and didn't pick the Dogs to win, is probably the bigger question. Quote

How folks watched Nederland do what they did against Central, knew Neumann's history against PNG, and didn't pick the Dogs to win, is probably the bigger question. It isn't that big of a question. Nederland literally won the last two games by one play at the end of the game. Nederland stepped up and made the plays to win and deserved it but you are only questioning a single play. Change exactly one play per game and Nederland might be going into next week at 2-2 in district. Those were hardly sure thing picks on the Nederland side.............. Quote
dawgnut Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Nederland has won the last two games on what you would call the intangibles. They are not real statistics that you can put on a chart, but never less they are real. This group of Dogs have heart, that never give up attitude. Last night some thought the game was in jeopardy with PNG on the 13 yard line. 13 yards is a mile, the week before all they had was 3 feet. This group of Dogs may not be the fastest, or the biggest, but by far they have the biggest hearts. Never give up Dogs. Quote

Yeah, this is what I took Brubakers comment to mean, the intangibles it took to win that Central game were off the chart Quote
Proud Dawg Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 You can say that most games come down to a play here or there to change the outcome. This play just happened to be at the end of the game when everyone was watching. If you look at all the games nederland played, then you pick out the plays that changed the outcome. That is why you have to play every play. Quote

It is hard to compare a play in the first quarter when you have plenty of time to make up for a mistake and one made on the last play of the game where there is not even the chance of redemption. dawgnut Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 I don't think when you talk about this group of Dogs it doesn't come down to this play or that one. It's more about attitude, it doesn't matter who is running the football, they are running with complete abandon. They are not running to not get hurt, or wait for the next play when it may be better. They run hard every down. The defense just keeps on coming at you. They may bend, but they don't give up. It's not a play, it's every play. FutureDog 1 Quote
