No, it implies that almost everyone else expects you to lose. The worst teams go in expecting to pull or win or an "upset".

badndn
I really don't think it matters what goose creek is fighting for. This team has turned into what I thought they could be. For those of you who followed Ned all year know how close they are to being 7-1 or 8-0. I think it took a while to gel, but gcm can't compete. Not because of common opponents but because Nederland is better. If gcm plays out their butt, then it will still be 14 point win for Ned. If ned imposes their will, it will get out of hand quick. Not a knock on gcm, just stating what I see. This is a real good group of kids. Um. Maybe 7-1, but not 8-0. Dayton whooped yall pretty good. For that analogy PNG is two plays away from possibly being 8-0 and Nederland is two plays away from possibly being 3-5. Nederland is playing better football right now, but from experience...playing the Baytowns and LTown at the ends gonna hurt you guys against either Crosby or CEK. 75ndndb
Remembering when we won state in 75'. Had a huge lead on Vidor (nearly winless) at the half. Coach sent in 2nd team and Vidor started scoring and gained momentum. First team was sent back in and we had a tough time stopping the momentum! We barely pulled it out! Not saying this could happen to Nederland but stranger things have happened. Lol

Some teams rise to the occasion and some teams fold under the pressure. This group of dogs made that decision at the half against Central. The team leadership ask the coaches to step out. The team decided the streak would not end that night. That fire that was ignited that night hasn't burnt-out yet and i don't think it will any time soon. Many Central fans say they were out coached, maybe so but i think a lot should be put on team leadership that said not tonight we may be down but we're not out. That same group that pitched a shutout in the second half will be taking the field Friday night. If i was a gambler i would put my money on them. badndn
badndn, kind of like it hurt you all? Yes. Exactly. We were finally challenged and got punched in the mouth by a very good Nederland team in the first half of MCM and looked like a team that hadn't been challenged in a while. Nederland was more physical early in part because they had been challenged by Central, Ozen, Vidor, etc. PNG with LTown, Lee and GCM had not been. Hadn't had to play a full game since week 2. jake94
Turnovers and defense have been GCMs Achilles heel. If they limit turnovers and tighten up the D a little bit they are solid and can beat anyone in the district on any given night.
