Northern Lights Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 I don't disagree with King being number 1 because King/Crosby will be settled on the field. But no way Dayton should be 10th. That's ridiculous. They beat #3 Nederland by 20. Quote
Footballer06 Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Funny how Crosby drops on this clickish fictitious poll after dominating and shutting out a team that scored 20 on the bandwagon flavor of the season. It's all good cause The Big Red Machine gets to have the final say on the gridiron. I can already hear your pathetic excuses. It goes a little something like this, man I wish I wouldn't have let them clever threaders from Crosby sway my vote but I really have a distain for the Cougars since their fan base is dominating SETXSports with their articulate threads. It's ok, apology excepted beforehand as the perienial powerhouse team from Crosby proves you wrong once again. Tick tock King, Tick tock you've almost been put on CodeRed Alert. Hope y'all have ordered some tighter chin straps and plenty of ice as this train is getting warmed up!!!! Quote
bullets13 Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Bitter much? You sound pretty grumpy about this "clickish, fictitious poll". Are you now penning a similar diatribe to the voters of the non-clickish, very real AP poll? Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
prepballfan Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 I think the tide with King and Crosby is slowly been turning. I think it was a very close vote. You are right it will be settled on the field. Should be a great game..... Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

You are right it will be settled on the field. Should be a great game..... In all seriousness (that's hard cause stirring the pot is much more debatable), but King can't take the pounding they're about to get hit with. I know the score doesn't reflect it but Dayton is a better balanced team than King, but they caught them early and were heavily unprepared for them. As most in these parts will attest too, That loss was on the coaches and not the athletes, but to the coaching staffs credit made adjustments to right the ship and IMO are the second best team in 21-5A behind Crosby of course. I'm not one to say I told ya so but I'm telling ya when that clock hits double zeros Friday night against Porter and the Crosby coaching staff turns 100% focus on Price's game plan, they'll have the upper hand in the trenches and will be able to pound the heck out of King into a virtual submission. One things for sure, it's gonna be the hottest ticket in town if King can hold off a sneaky KW Park team which they should. Quote
tvc184 Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Funny how Crosby drops on this clickish fictitious poll .........................! Old Coach has King #12 this week and they have Crosby at #18. The AP has it #9 for King and #13 for Crosby. I wonder which clique they are in, we already know their polls are fictitious. And you are correct that Crosby may beat King. If they do, congrats. Then they will move back into #1. If not, they will drop behind Nederland who they beat already this year (assuming Nederland beats GCM). Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

I think it's about as accurate as any other poll out there. :D :P  Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

HJ2012 Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 No I agree. They are the exception as well. Both have earned their spot this year. Huffman had to earn their spot. HJ earned it pretty early because "the click" adopted them early. HJ deserves to be ontop until they play WOS then I guarantee they will fly to the top. If they lose then they might drop a spot, maybe. I think the term you're looking for is 'clique' not click. And, I'm not sure who the clique is referring to, because the staff comes from all over SETX. HJ earned it early because they beat solid teams handily. They may have not played as well as of late, but no one has been able to bring them down. We shall see after next week, but if it's a close game, I don't see HJ dropping very far at all. There's a reason some people have votes and others don't. I think EC is a very good team and I picked them to beat Buna. But do I think they could compete with West Orange right now? No. It's hard to put your bias aside as a fan. Trust me, I know. You have to be realistic though, and realistically, EC is not better than West Orange. If West Orange wins this week, I think they deserve to be at #1. If HJ wins this week, I think you see WO-S drop, but not too much because they lost to the team in the #1 spot, and I bet it will be close. I think EC will get votes for sure, especially since they're undefeated. The problem is, they haven't played anyone besides Buna, and it's hard to pick a team to be #1 if they've played week opponents. Take a look at Florida St. They dropped from #1, despite being undefeated because they haven't played anyone! I don't think anyone who has a vote hates EC. I do think they do a very good job here. Not everyone will be pleased with the polls. I think we all know that. And just in case no one realized it, these things determine absolutely nothing. I would like to say thanks to the staff for your hard work guys! I really enjoy everything this site has to offer!!! Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 I know this much, if WO-S beats HJ but Huffman beats Jasper, Huffman will be my #1 team. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

I give credit where credit is due and 21-5A is due with the exception of the BH Saltdomers the playoffs should be a massacre. Playoff preview: Not enough Chiefs too many Indians, Who let the Dogs IN Who, Who let the dogs In, and the Jags and Panthers are like two NFL teams of the 90's, Expansion Teams. Go 21-5A it's good to have a virtual bye the first week cause it's gonna get tougher and tougher.... Quote
WOSgrad Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 I won't speculate on my #1 next week. H-J is my #1 in my rankings this week as they have earned it. I don't think I am in ANY H-J clique. In fact, I might not be enemy No. 1 in Sour Lake, but you don't have to go very far down the list to find me. OleMoe Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 I was viewing the AP poll. In 3A DIVISION 2 they have Corrigan a couple or more places in front of Newton. Is this based on record only? The fact that Newton defeated them this past Fri. seems to have no meaning ?? Quote

Is this based on record only? The fact that Newton defeated them this past Fri. Seems to have no bearing. ?? CC was ranked I think 4th, and newton 17th, going into that game. I think it's more a matter of the distance between them going in. Newton can't jump 10 teams that didn't lose to get into the top 5 based on one win, and CC shouldn't drop 15 spots for losing to Newton. If they'd been closer in the rankings newton would've jumped them. Quote
OleMoe Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Thanks bullets.. IF we meet again we send them to the house. No polls needed. <{â—¿â—}> Quote

bronco pride Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 That's why these golden triangle homers feel dumb now putting Nederland that high in the rankings. Smhyeah this loss will probably drop them way down to 4th. Good news is if GCM makes the playoffs it's looking like Dayton and Crosby will get Ned and PNG. Sounds like some good first round match ups. Quote
GeauxMe Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Yep some good blow outs anyway ! Quote
