king Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 I'm not an SEC hater. I do believe the west is the best conference in CFB. The media is SO BIASED. I'm gonna use Florida State as a prime example. People want to cut them down struggling against NC State. Saying that Notre Dame win wasn't enough. SEC fans saying that FSU would not be undefeated if they were in the west. I can agree with that. They would lose a game or 2 just like the rest of the teams in the west would So what's your point? So this is the thing that bothers me the most. If FSU played Mississippi State this week and they lose. What would people be saying? "you see FSU can't hang in the SEC they don't deserve to be in the playoffs". So the other SEC teams gets a pass for losing to them, and still be alive for the playoffs? So your telling me the same Mississippi State team that gave up 31 points to a basketball school Kentucky struggled against them. Alabama could barely score on Arkansas!!! 14-13? Arkansas is terrible. They haven't won a SEC west game in 2 years. Nobody wants to mention that. If Florida State would of struggled against Kentucky like Mississippi State did. If they would've beat a bad Arkansas team 14-13. What would people be saying? That FSU sucks because they barely beat a bottom of the barrel team in the SEC? Yet Alabama, and Mississippi State can get away with that?? Auburn got smashed by Mississippi State! Should of lost to Kansas State. Using Florida State as an example again. What if they lost to Miss state the way Auburn did? barely beat a Kansas State team. What would people be saying? TxHoops and whatnamecanipick 2 Quote

baddog Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 No, the NC was won by Florida State over Auburn, and the next best team in the west was Bama, who was defeated by Oklahoma. Times change I know, but I heard the "second to none" after those games were played and won. Still can't figure that one. Quote

Holman Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 FSU's problem is a matter of perception. They created a monster when they steamrolled through the regular season last year. A large portion of that team came back this year. So fans/media expect more of the same from last year But FSU is not stomping opponents this year like last year. Thus they are penalized for that. king Posted October 30, 2014 Author Report Posted October 30, 2014 Florida State vs Louisville tonight. If FSU barely beats this average ACC team. SEC fans would think that FSU is bad. Alabama beats a bad Arkansas team 14-13. They will talk about how tough the the conference is. Steven Avery and TxHoops 2 Quote

Apparently, not all feel that way....some realized it was a bad Arkansas team...and that pissed off ole Saban...lol “It really, if you want to know the truth about it, pisses me off when I talk to people that have this expectation like they’re disappointed that we only won the game 14-13 and the way we played. That’s frustrating. You want to talk about something that’s frustrating? That’s frustrating to me, for our players, who play with a lot of heart in the game.†http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/alabama-football/nick-saban-fans-expectations/ Quote

They are a sure td fumbled through the endzone against bamr and a td negated by a holding call against A&M from being 6-2. Two plays. They may not be a good team but i wouldn't characterize them as bad. Mediocre maybe. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 @BCSKnowHow: Full top 16 comparison between first @CFBPlayoff rankings and what the #BCS would have looked like after Week 9: http://t.co/B0J5ZAHlE3 A little different, but still 3 SEC West teams. I can't wait to hear all of yall whine next week when it's an all SEC playoff. Quote
king Posted October 31, 2014 Author Report Posted October 31, 2014 So Mississippi State gave up 31 points to a mediocre basketball school in Kentucky? Florida State gave up 31 to a decent Louisville team that is better than Kentucky. Yet you say FSU don't deserve to be #2?? TxHoops 1 Quote
TxHoops Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 Fsu gets in and is the team to beat. If ND and Oregon win out, they are both in. Count on it. ND and FSU are the best two teams I have seen this year. Auburn is close. Quote
whatnamecanipick Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 a meaningless point of discussion until the end. and why waste all the energy trying to predict how the selection committee is going to vote? TxHoops Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 Which win thus far would you say is ND's best? I would agree with pats and say Stanford. Most impressive game was loss to fsu. But notice I said if they win out. That would mean they also beat Az St, USC and Louisville. And they would definitely get in - both on results and the fact they would be the biggest draw in the playoffs. Quote

AggiesAreWe Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 IMO, ND should never be eligible for the playoff until they start playing in a major conference. You shouldn't be able to "hand pick" your entire 12 game schedule and be eligible for National Championship. This playoff system should have been 8 total teams to begin with. The five conference champions (ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12 and SEC) then 3 at-large teams. The three at-large teams would come from the SEC West. ;) :D PN-G bamatex 1 Quote

Peppermint Patty Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 But do ya really think ND is one of the two best teams in the country? No, but maybe top 4 and deserving of a chance to prove it. Quote
TxHoops Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 But do ya really think ND is one of the two best teams in the country? The best football I have seen this year was nd-fsu. I don't know that they are but I certainly don't know that they aren't. I would have them in my top four along with auburn, fsu and miss st. Auburn or miss st will fall out with Oregon replacing them by season's end if the ducks win out. Bama could end up in top 4 if they win sec. Quote
Holman Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 The beauty of it and a reason this has been such an enjoyable season is that, unlike last years' FSU, there is no one team that stands out above the rest. Every top team has a flaw(s) of some kind. Any of the top 12 teams or so is capable of beating any other. And not as a "any given Saturday scenario.' But is truly capable. I could see TCU beating bamr, or Michigan State beating Auburn, or georgia beating Mississippi State. Quote
king Posted November 1, 2014 Author Report Posted November 1, 2014 Let me guess florida blowing out georgia shows how balanced the SEC is right? Not how overrated Georgia is??! Quote
