Both teams are 9-1. Buna's only loss to a solid EC team, an Malakoff's only loss is to Teague the #1 team in some polls. Both play similar styles with run heavy offenses and physical defenses.

Malakoff is a run heavy team featuring running back Marcus Dowell strong powerful running back with speed too boot. They do pass and have a decent passing game good solid defense have been suspect against the run tho. Teague lit there secondary up but Teague tends to do that to teams. If Buna come in and plays Cougar football smash mouth run it down your throat and keep them off balance with the pass. And keeps mistakes down Buna can win this ballgame, lay the wood to Mr. Dowell pop him every play and let the chips fall where they may!!! Let's keep rolling Big Blue do work Cougars!!!

This is the best game to watch in the 1st round on DI play.  If Buna were to win this game, it would tell me that this region could be wide open.  I really don't know much about either, but I expect it to be close.

If the Buna coaching staff makes adjustments like they did against kirbyville throughout the game they shouldn't have any problems winning this one. I'm pulling for the cougars to take this one !!!

#8 Marcus Dowell will be the best back Buna has seen all year IMO. Malakoff is a very physical football team that plays the run very well.
