Woodshed Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Do you guys think there is a 4th seed playoff team in any classification that actually has a shot at beating a District Champ and moving on to the second round of the playoffs? If so, who? Quote
badndn Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Problem is that in 5A and 6A you dont always get 1 vs 4 matchups. #1Ned gets #4KP, but #1King gets #2Central. Crosby as a 2 gets our 4 in Ozen. That said a KP win over Nederland would not surprise me. Quote
liltex Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Kingwood Park Why?Played within a td vs Crosby & Dayt, beat CE King. Quote
bullets13 Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 there's some matchups where it will be possible. there are going to be some districts with four really good teams matching up against weak districts where the #1 cakewalked to a championship without playing a team as good as #4 from the district they're paired with. If so, who? Brownwood in 4A (District is loaded) and possibly Little River cademy in 3A off the top of my head. 25-5A may have all 4 teams win as well. Quote

RaiderRed30 Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Forgot in the same district pairing as Little River Academy, Comanche over Rockdale. As for Brownwoods district all 4 could easily win or only 1. Wylie's the only guarantee. Big spring plays first to 100 with that defense, Brownwoods still rebuilding, and Stephenville is playing without Stidham. They should be okay because I have heard their back up already has at least 5 FBS scholarship offers after just starting against Wylie. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

I am certainly not a fan of the 4 team format, but a few teams that do have the talent to make some noise did make it in. I like Lufkin's chances of beating Longview again. Quote

AggiesAreWe Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 #4 Kilgore has a shot at beating #1 Jasper. #4 Kingwood Park has a shot against #1 Nederland That's just games involving our area teams. I haven't looked statewide. Quote
PURPLE 4EVER Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Just ask Barbers Hill about a #1 playing a #4. Seems like yesterday Ozen went to the ant mound and made a very good Eagle team a one and done team. No team should take another team for granted in the playoffs. One big play that gives your team momentum can carry them to victory. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
cat001 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 I think #4Tarkington has a good shot of knocking off #1 Mexia Quote
Eagleborn Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 he came back and caught 1 pass for 18 yards and fumbled his only carry which ended up being a scoop and score. Quote

texas13 Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 Neither hf or Tarkington have a good shot. There is a slim chance, but slim to none. Just like kountze, real slim chance. They are all matched up with real quality opponets HDBobcats9 1 Quote
Beach fire Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 How many district wins did tarkington havve?? Quote
#62jjohnson Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 HF has a shot at La Marque, I think.if they played like they did against orangefield this will go down as one of Hamshire's worst lost in the school's history . The game will be over by the 2nd quarter, you cant be giving up almost 50 points a game as a defense and exect to win . Now if k king had malveaux , semien and george with him even with that putrit defense they could win , But that is just a fantasy . Quote
HDBobcats9 Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 Good point deputy. I actually think Kountze has a better chance of upsetting Teague that HF or Tarkington have of winning. My winning percentages: Kountze (15%) Tarkington (8%) HF (3%) Quote
