king Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Who would you rather see two 1 loss SEC teams or a 1 loss Baylor and TCU teams in the playoffs Auburn barely beat Kansas State. Really should've loss that game. TCU curved stomped Kansas State. Quote
shovel Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 If I were picking, there'd be two Big 12 teams and two SEC West teams. I will admit my bias, but I can't get excited about ACC, PAC 12 or especially Big 10 teams. Quote
Eazy Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 I have a feeling Florida St and Oregon will be there plus one SEC team and one Big 12 team. Quote
TxHoops Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 I have a feeling Florida St and Oregon will be there plus one SEC team and one Big 12 team. What I am thinking too. Ohio state waiting to get in when teams get that second loss. If Arizona state wins out (which would mean a win over Oregon), they would get in I would think. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 @Jake_Trotter: Per Big 12, while league technically recognizes co-champs, winner of head-to-head would be submitted to playoff by Big 12 as champ Quote

PhatMack19 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Maybe this is why the Committe doesn't respect Baylor "here's how bad Baylor's resume is...5 wins over: SMU (0-8) Buffalo (3-6) NWState (FCS team) Kansas (3-6) Iowa State (2-7) and probably another win against Tech (3-6). And the horns could finish with a losing record too. that's a possible 7 out of 11 wins vs. teams with losing records. That is a mediocre SoS. Committee will take notice" Quote
Holman Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 Both the PAC 12 and SEC champs could have 2 losses. What then? Are both in? Are both out if there are one loss teams available for the spots? Quote
bullets13 Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 TCU wins out and they're in. not sure about Baylor. Quote
Holman Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 It is too bad there are only 4 playoff spots. There is no one team far better than any other. IMO the number 1 seed would not be a clear favorite over the number 8 seed. Other years perhaps but not this year. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 TCU wins out and they're in. not sure about Baylor. If both win out, Baylor will be the Big 12 Champ. It will be interesting to see what the Committe decides. Quote
TxHoops Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 If both win out, Baylor will be the Big 12 Champ. It will be interesting to see what the Committe decides. Put em both in. Probably should be the 1-2 seeds. Quote
Roper84 Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 Put em both in. Probably should be the 1-2 seeds. So you're saying Baylor and TCU are the best two teams in the nation? Respectfully disagree. TCU #5 BU #6 Quote
PhatMack19 Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 Baylor fan is in full meltdown mode. They have their lawyers ready if they need to sue to get in the playoff. Roper84 1 Quote

Ty Cobb Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 I would rather see TCU and Baylor Quote
Eazy Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 If Miami can knock off FSU, then both Baylor and TCU have a great shot at the playoff. Quote
TxHoops Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 If Miami can knock off FSU, then both Baylor and TCU have a great shot at the playoff. Agreed. You have to wonder how many times fsu can escape too. Quote
badndn Posted November 14, 2014 Report Posted November 14, 2014 TCU intrigues me more than Baylor. TCU with the exception of the Baylor second half, plays defense well enough to make some noise. Quote
sahen Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 TCU intrigues me more than Baylor. Baylor's defense is better than TCU's defense in almost every major category across the board. Quote

sahen Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Against who though?? I have way more faith in a Paterson D than a Phill Steele D. Based on history Baylor's Schedule - Big 12 + SMU, FCS Team, @Buffalo TCU's Schedule - Big 12 + SMU, FCS Team, Minnesota Obviously, Minnesota is better than Buffalo, other than that the schedules aren't any different. Unless you want to argue the fact that Baylor gets the luxury of not facing its own offense that rolled up 800 yards on that vaunted TCU defense. I will give you that. At the end of the year will be a true comparison, but as of now Baylor is statistically head and shoulders the better defense this year. And just for a comparison nationwide, right now Baylor's defense in yards per game is 14th in the NCAA at 322.2 ypg. TCU is 47 at 378.8 ypg. Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Look at the stats. Baylor's defense is better than TCU's defense in almost every major category across the board. Look at Baylor's non-conference schedule. I would hope they had good defensive numbers. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Does anyone think that if these 2 teams were named Texas or Oklahoma that they would be on the outside looking in for the playoff? Quote
TxHoops Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Does anyone think that if these 2 teams were named Texas or Oklahoma that they would be on the outside looking in for the playoff? Nope. I'm surprised Ohio state is too though. Something tells me they get in somehow if they win out though. Quote
