The NCAA has ruled Memphis F/C James Wiseman -- the possible No. 1 overall pick in 2020 NBA Draft -- ineligible, his lawyers said in Memphis.

Wiseman is playing under a local judges temporary restraining order even though the NCAA has advised Memphis that he is still ruled ineligible and Memphis could get sanctioned for playing the player.

IMO, Memphis is taking this chance so that can get as many games out of Wiseman as possible because even if he is ruled eligible, this is his only year there. But, I also think it's stupid to do if you cause your entire basketball program to be put on probation just so one player can play a few games.

I think they have chosen this as their challenge to the NCAA's ultimate authority. Like most educational institutions, the NCAA is getting softer.
