Wow. Big surprise. I picked Jasper to win but I didn't think it would be near this considering the state power Kilgore usually is.

impressive!  Kilgore doesnt have a great record, but they're only a few points from having a solid record, and they've lost several close games to good teams.  i thought this one would be a tossup.

True.  This puts the whole district 10 in a new light.  Jasper handled some teams pretty easily.  Enough to make you think we had a weak district.  The way this is playing out encourages me for the other three games in Lufkin.  Kilgore beat Henderson, so the whole district may not be nearly as tough as advertised ??

I am a bit surprised, but not totally.  This is totally subjective, but I have felt that this is as quick and as fast a team as I have ever seen at Jasper.  They are so quick to the ball on both sides of the ball that Kilgore has not had a chance to do much.  Take away the 75 yd TD pass, and Kilgore might be pretty close to negative yardage for the game.  Just guessing.  Art Lay said that even when Kilgore completed a pass, Jasper's closing speed dropped the receivers immediately.

i know kilgore is just getting back their running back.  i guess they lost alot more than him ,  they were one of the top teams coming back .  jasper giving them the bizzness !!!!

they are, but they've had a ton of key injuries, and i think 3 1-score losses to state ranked teams.  they're a better team than 4-6 would indicate.  but then again, they're looking like a 4-6 team tonight :)

There are a lot of folks in that area that thought Kilgore and the rest of that district would sweep this week. They might be 4-6, but that was a tough district and Jasper wasn't expected to do this at all. Jasper's coaching staff has done a remarkable job to turn a mistake-prone team into the buzz saw that they look like right now.
