I'm not sure when 7th grade will fiind out. They have a quick turn around this year. The first game is on the 20th. Quote
BlackShirts5 Posted November 14, 2014 Author Report Posted November 14, 2014 Yea our 1st game is on the 20th also but we will be out of town. Heading to the Nebraska game in Lincoln the 19th. Ill post all our scores I can get in here. Quote
John Blutarsky Posted November 14, 2014 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Cool, enjoy the game. I'll try and post the Gentry scores as well. Are there any Barbers Hill fans here that can tell me which junior high your star big man is going to. We have BH South next Thursday. Quote

Not exactly sure what he made or if he will ever get to play, but we're going to give it a go. I guess they no longer "cut" players. Quote
BlackShirts5 Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 Gcmpats My boy also made the b what ever team. He doesn't think he will be playing at all. Said he will only get to practice every other Friday. I talked to one of the teachers there that I know pretty well and said they may as well just cut the ones they aren't going to ever play. Least they know hey I wasn't good enough this year, I got to work harder next year. instead of stringing them along. Quote
BH85 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Highlands and Gentry will be very tough in the 7A group. I've seen quite of few of these kids play in the offseason. My boy is on the BH North team. I think our first game is this Thursday against Horace Mann, but I'm not sure. Quote
_chorizo11 Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Come to a tournament in setx and play silsbee, Vincent, and CO Wilson and see how good you are.. Quote
BH85 Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Come to a tournament in setx and play silsbee, Vincent, and CO Wilson and see how good you are.. I'm not about to compare our bball area with yours right now. I know Silsbee is tough and I would guess the toughest East side of Houston. I'm not sure of the breakdown with Wilson / Central on the Nederland side and how their talent is split. Our 8th graders had a tough one with Silsbee last year in a tournament but it would be hard to compete with them now that we are split. There was some real good talent on some Beaumont/Port Arthur AAU teams I saw over the off season. Quote
_chorizo11 Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Not comparing,, just saying they have some good basketball tournament with some of those teams..very competitive Quote
diego cruz Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Come to a tournament in setx and play silsbee, Vincent, and CO Wilson and see how good you are.. Nederland Wilson is usually the team that wins there district the last several years.I seen them play last night and #5 #4 are legit on both ends of the floor and #3 is a good offensive player.i think there 8th grade A and 7th grade A teams went undefeated last year.Silsbee is always good and Beaumont has a few schools that are very good. The Bush kid for Legacy is legit also. Quote

Bush dropped 42 points against 3 people holding him at all times Quote
BH85 Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 Bush is a good player and a good kid. 42 is tough to score at any level. Quote
DeuceSixSuited Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 Bush is a good player and a good kid. 42 is tough to score at any level. The thing that seperates Bush from any kid that I know is his work ethic and his heart. A lot of kids that have his talent and ability have in their head that they are so good and they do not have to work to get better. At practice, he is the first in every sprint not just because he is the fastest, but because he wants to get better. He is a very special young man and I'm blessed to be a part of his career! Quote
Former All State Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Yes brady b hard works pays off glad the kid practice the way he plays, I got a chance to see him play against Nederland and I had heard Legacy had a good guard didn't think he would be that good. I also heard he came from Silsbee the guy can dribble and shoot and plays hard. I over heard his dad talking and he said Braelon, McCain, and Adams all play together if Bush goes back to Silsbee which I think he will that will be a scary backcourt in years to come. Quote

It has always ben a crazy backcourt. Plus silsbee has kids above and below that classth cn go also. And who knows where they will end up playing in highschool :) Quote
Former All State Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Brady b you are correct me and my son going to Hardin Jefferson tonight I want to see the other two guards what grade is Bush is it the 8th cause that's what grade the other two kids are in I also heard they are waiting to bring them 3 up to varsity Quote

Peppermint Patty Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 HJS 7th wins both games against Baytown Jr. I don't remember the scores, but both teams won by 20+. My son played his first basketball game ever and scored 4 points for HJS and 2 points for BJS (he got a little confused when the 2nd half started). Over all, it was good to see him participate in an athletic event. Quote

I'm glad he missed. lol Quote

John Blutarsky Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Baytown Gentry has Horace Mann. Should be an easy one for the 8th graders. Hopefully the 7th graders make it another sweep. Quote
BH85 Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Gentry probably won't get tested until they play Highlands for both 7th/8th Quote
John Blutarsky Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Gentry probably won't get tested until they play Highlands for both 7th/8th That will be next week. 8th at Highlands, 7th at Gentry. So which Barbers Hill team is supposed to be stronger North or South? Quote
