We have only been UIL particiapant for 6 years and if it wasn't for Johnathon Gray we would have at least one. I understand yall are a proud community with a lot of history which you should be proud of but to get on here and predict a win (especially in the playoffs) every week is crazy and idiotic. If you don't believe me go look at Bobcat 55 from Hull Daiseta. [/quote

Don't give Jonathon Gray all the credit for the loss, your arrogant coach gets some of that as well[/quote]yeah I know JG didn't play defense and Manvel had 7 pts at halftime and the game was over by then. To the other posters point coaching makes a huge difference but give a good coach 1500 more kids to pick from and I like his chances. Dayton has the second smallest enrollment in their district and usually only suits up about 35 kids.

How in the world did Manvel spank Pearland who has almost 1500-1800 more students for 2 years straight after moving up a classification? How did they beat North Shore one of the largest schools in the state? I get your point to some degree, but coaching also plays a major factor.

True.. but its real.hard to match 10 plus d1 signers regardless of coaching.

Tough loss Dayton. Hold them heads up Broncos and fans y'all had a roller coaster season but be proud of them boys, as I know you are, they are one heck of a hard nosed talented football team. Through all the jabbing back in forth it's been fun but ever since my son walked off the field against y'all and said dad, them guys hit hard and are our rivalries but after the game shook my hand and were the classiest group of foes that wished us only the best, I've had a soft spot for 'em. So to some it may not mean anything, but you Dayton guys that know me, you know who u are, For what it's worth, I truly feel for ya. 21-5A represented well!!!!!!!

I think Dayton wins this one in a shootout. Dayton has little to no chance of stopping Angleton's run game but conversely the Cats will struggle to stop the Bronco's passing attack. Angleton is a lot more physically imposing than Dayton but I think they can negate that advantage if they get Keener and McBride in space. Oh yeah, note to Dayton: it's ok to run the ball before the 4th quarter.

Well, this game went about how I expected but I figured Dayton would at least get Keener and McBride a few more opportunities in space to break the game open. Have to be able to stop the run in the in the playoffs or at least slow it down. Angleton ran for nearly 400 yards of Dayton but the telling factor was that Angleton ran 79 total plays to Dayton's 37. Very hard to win like that but somehow Dayton almost did. With Keener, McBride, Chambers and Baughmann graduating, Dayton will need to rely heavily on their trench play next year if they want to make some noise. Solid season for the Broncos, just ran into a tough matchup. See y'all in Dayton next year.

They played a weak district team the week before,

and then Angleton came knocking on their door,

this was just the second round,

but the mighty Dayton has went down.

I really hope those overconfident people from Dayton learned a valuable lesson this game.  Don't count your chickens before they hatch.  You play a weak district schedule and you aren't as good as you think you are.  Oh yea and quit blaming your coach for the loss.  Should he have passed on 3rd down with one minute left? Probably not, but it showed how confident he was in his team to get the first down.  Quit placing blame and just take your medicine.  Better shape up that defense or it will be the same result next year.

Boy you nailed that one. All except the unfortunate score. Angleton has played much better since we beat them in their house and we both knew it would be a tough matchup. Not cool to lay blame at this time, just thank those seniors that hang up their cleats for the last time for giving you all the joy of football since most of them were peewee footballers..

tribe7 I've read your crap for a couple of days now and resisted the urge to respond simply bcs I didn't want to stoop to your level of stupidity, but now you've taken disrespect (to the young men on Dayton's roster) to a level I can no longer ignore.  If you're not from Dayton or Angleton then why the hell are you even on here?  You're a real tough guy punching that keyboard but I would bet my bottom dollar you aren't nearly as tough in person.  You definitely get my vote for the "just shut up" award.  You should really consider getting a life, chump.

Thanks for the love...there is definitely mutual respect within that rivalry and I hope Crosby goes deep this year.  We have great kids with a lot of heart that don't deserve to be disrespected on here by idiots like tribe7.  To lose by 1 point in second round two years straight is really tough for the Bronco faithful but especially the kids on those teams.  If anything stands out about this group, it's that they have a lot of heart.  They are almost always undersized and undermanned but are always going toe to toe with their opponents.  Again, thanks for the respect and good luck the rest of this post-season.
