Peppermint Patty Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Not everyone gets 3 bye weeks like the Big 12-2. Other conferences have to schedule their "bye games" Just play every team in your conference. That would fix the "bye" weak scheduling problem. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Just play every team in your conference. That would fix the "bye" weak scheduling problem. So the Big 12 has it right. They should blow up every other conferences in the country and make all new 10 team conferences so they can be more like the Big 12. Makes sense Quote
PhatMack19 Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 It's funny this thread was started by a fan of an ACC team. That conference is so bad that the only unbeaten Power 5 team in the country is only ranked #3 in the polls. Quote

I think they should eliminate conference affiliations altogether. Take the teams for the Power 5 conferences, divide them into divisions similar to the NFL and have the playoffs determined by division champions. All the other schools and conferences can feed on the leftovers. If the NCAA wants to simply be a minor league system to the NFL, then structure it like the NFL. Quote

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Yet better than the best team in the sec. Beat em before you chirp. Tough concept for Aggies, I know. Aggies need to be worried about finding a defense. Quote
Englebert Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Not everyone gets 3 bye weeks like the Big 12-2. Other conferences have to schedule their "bye games" Every SEC team not in the championship game gets 3 bye weeks. Their 3rd bye is during the SEC championship game. Same goes with every other conference in the nation. The Big12 doesn't have a championship game so they can spread their season out utilizing that extra week. And speaking of a conference championship game, you've made several comments deriding the Big12 for not having one, saying it is hurting the conference. In reality, a conference championship game can be good sometimes and bad sometimes. For example, if you have a team ranked in the Top 4, but loses in the championship game, your conference can be without a representative in the playoffs. A conference with no conference championship game doesn't have to worry about that. On the other hand, if you have a team that's sitting at number 5 and beats a Top 10 team in the championship game, it could vault them into the Top 4...and into the playoffs. A conference with no championship game doesn't get the benefit of a late quality win. The championship game, or no championship game, can help or hurt your conference based on the circumstances at the end of the year. Quote

BlackShirts5 Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Naw. I think we win out and 50-50 win or lose the bowl. Quote

Talking about the SEC and not the Aggie's - This thread at the start did not mention the Aggie's at all but as usual you try and make it about them. And sorry but the ONLY poll that makes any difference at this time is the Play Off Selection Committee Poll and that one has Alabama No, 1 and FSU No. 3 - with another of those weak SEC team No, 4. Change "poll" to "pole" and the statement is more accurate. The non-SEC schools are definitely getting the shaft at this point. MIss St is going to catch some karma for pulling that kid's scholly. I hope they lose every game from here on out until the end of eternity. Total Frat move. Quote

OldTimer Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 FSU congratulates you on your moral victory. Unfortunately, that doesn't get you the crystal football. Ask Auburn ;) You are right - but this year in order to lay your hands on the crystal ball you have to be one of the 4 teams that the POSC (Play Off Selection Committee) selects. Still think this is a bad idea - there are always more than 4 teams that have at least some legitimate argument to be considered the best team in the land. Quote
