Just summarizing what I am seeing on Social Media:
Pretty surprising that he is so loved.

- Colorado State Strength of Schedule Averaged 93 the last 3 years.
- Under Jim Mcelwain Colorado State NEVER beat a 8 win team, and only beat two 7 win teams.
- Muschamp has a win percentage of .571 in the SEC, Mcelwain had .578 with horrible schedule
- Jim did not recruit , Greg McElroy
- He recruited AJ Mccaron, who was from Mobile Alabama...
- After Jim left Alabama, Mccaron broke multiple Alabama passing records and went 12-0 winning a NC.
- He didnt recruit his QB at Colorado State

At this time - makes no difference what he has done in the past.

He wins early and often he will be loved - He struggles and stays in the middle of the pack - in 3 years they will be calling for his head as well.

That is the prescription for all major college programs in today's money and win hungry fan and supporter base.  Will happen at Texas, Texas A&M and all others.

I have already started hearing it from many season ticket holders at A&M - so even Sumlin's time will be limited if he does not start having more successful seasons.

That's a heck of a buyout

"Scott Carter of GatorZone.com released the details of McElwain’s negotiated buyout, revealing that Florida will pay $3 million over the course of six years to CSU and will give the Rams an addition $2 million for a game in the Swamp sometime between 2017-20.

The new Florida head coach will also be responsible for paying CSU $2 million as well in order to cover the cost of the $7 million buyout. McElwain will make an average of $3.5 million each year over the next six years as head coach of the Gators, making him the sixth-highest paid coach in the SEC."

A personal $2M buyout from the coach seems a little steep too, no? Think there might be a wealthy gator alum who will make that right?

I think he has a terrible agent. Who lets their client get that kind of buyout for a stepping stone job?

Read my mind there

If I understand it correctly, there was some fishy business going on with the AD position at CSU when that contract was signed. I don't know details, though.

He may have been on board when it was signed, but he wasn't on board when the negotiations started. And my understanding is that those negotiations took a significant turn when the sudden change occurred.
