bronco1
Subject: FW: 11point DOE killed December 2,2006 in Southwest AR by Thomas "HOOT" ...When I saw the deer's horns in velvet I remember thinking that is odd. I even asked Kathie if she thought I should take him. The closer it got to us the easier it was to make up my mind. Kathie got turned around and settled just as I made up my mind and I got my gun. At this point neither one of us could tell how big the deer actually was. To both of us it looked to be a 6 or 7 pt, I knew it was legal. I raised my gun to take the shot while I was telling my wife to take the picture and she quickly let me know that she was filming at this point. The next thing she heard was... BOOM!!!For the most part, we have it on film. The gun blast scared my wife so bad that she dropped the camera so you cant see the deer run off, but still we have pretty good clip of film. One shot, right through the heart and the deer ran about 20 yards and we heard it crash. Now it was time to go and see what trophy we had. You guessed it, Kathie also taped the tracking of it. When we approached the deer I knew that velvet this time of year was not right and it did not have the musky odor that most bucks have from the rut. I was scratching my head about this deer, velvet, didn't stink? So I lifted her back leg and I had my answer. IT'S A DOE! Her rack ended up having 11 points. I have heard about them butnever thought I would get one.I had just shot an 11 point DOE. I was completely and still am beside myself. So we got her loaded and I took her to my uncles house where he called the game warden. My uncle told him what I had. He said what's your location? He made a 30 min trip in about 15. He arrived and got out of his truck and started looking her over. I lifted her back leg and asked what do you think? He said that is a doe! He got his camera started taking his pictures and he also tagged it for me. His formstated that I had killed an 11 point DOE!I was not dreaming! This is just part of what seemed to be a day that would never end, nor did I want it to. I just wanted to share with you and your readers my Hunt of a Lifetime. Hoot's Little Freak...my 11 point DOE! I am getting her in a full body mount with her tail up!Thanks for your time.Thomas "Hoot" CoxSouthwest Arkansas
tvc184
What I am shocked about is that Coop didn't post these pics. I think bronco1 is moving in on his territory. ;DI am not sure to make anything of it or not but I noticed that this transexual deer is from Arkansas. It's birth place probably does have something to do with it.
