ladybronco Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 we did a great job last night of keeping the game at an up tempo pace; quicker than they could play. =]]still in the hunt for playoffs!!!!!
KFDM COOP Posted January 27, 2007 Author Report Posted January 27, 2007 Keep us updated on your scores..
rapayne Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 This was a fantastic game to watch if you want to see a physical and tough nosed game, the refs started out in a laxed fashion and then after LCM cried enough started to over officiate Dayton. But, alas those fantastic Lady Broncos kicked in the door on the Lady Bears.
Htexans90 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 are you implying that they were being cry babys?
CRUSHCOACH Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 are you implying that they were being cry babys?I wouldn't say cry babies ! I heard the Dayton fans crying just as much. However, this is supposed to be Basketball. If you want a football game then lets put some pads on and get after it. Its bad when you have 3 referees and two of the three make a different call on the same play several times during the game. But, regardless of how the game was called, Dayton won and they just plain beat LCM. No excuses. Ya'll took LCM out of their game and just plain out hustled them all game long. Ya'll have definitely improved from the 1st time we met. Good Luck with the rest of the season!
ladybronco Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 thank you crushcoach! we definitely tried to play our game and control the pace of it.
Slam14 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Consistency - or lack it - continues to plague LCM. LCM played a great, smart game in Beaumont to beat Ozen and then Dayton really took them out of anything they tried to do. Dayton played well and shot well from the outside...this was not the same team that played earlier in the year at our gym in Little Cypress. Hats off to the girls in Dayton for their obvious continued hard work. The refs certainly were not the difference in the game, but I haven't seen many games this year that I thought were really officiated great. There were 3 refs officiating this game. At one point in the 2nd half, LCM drives to the basket makes the layup and is fouled on the shot. The basket is waved off AND THEN the refs give her 2 shot because it was in the act of shooting! Go figure. After the crowd went wild, the 3 refs got together and corrected it...but it took a while.
CRUSHCOACH Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Hopefully for LCM it's GROWING PAINS and they will mature and get better for next year. I know Coach Ellerbee will keep working them until they are playing some good ball.
Slam14 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 CC, I think you're right about the "growing pains" of LCM's young team. There is nothing wrong at all with growing pains if lessons are learned from them. I know Coach Ellerbee will continue to work these young ladies hard and think she's done a good job of putting some youngsters on the floor in an effort to build a nice future. With some hard work, LCM should be a team to keep an eye on in the future.
