I have lived in Ennis for about 2 years now and have had the privilege to watch Coach Alvarez coach some great teams. Tonight Ennis won and will be going to State. I truly hope Alvarez can win the Championship. Talk about a coach who deserves it.

Ennis was having some down years before Alvarez got here, but they have some great history. Also Ennis does in fact run the Wing T.

I would, matter of fact things were going downhill towards the end of Harrell's tenure. Before Jack got there I dont even remember them making the playoffs the few years prior. I believe Jack had a 2-8 first season there and hasn't looked back since.

The year before Jack got here the interim coach went 2-8. Alvarez showed up in 2011. in 2011 they went 3-7 overall (2-6) in district, 2012 they went 9-3 (6-2) in district, 2013 they went 14-1 (7-0) in district and this year they went 13-2 (7-0) in district.

That first year I hear was tough,, kids walking out, not playing, parents wanting him gone already......I bet have different attituDE now

People absolutley love him here now lol. I knew of him since I was from Jasper and of course while he coached in Kirbyville. I know what the man is capable of, but in a bigger area like Ennis I guess it took a while for the community to buy into what he was selling. I just know the man could say something day one to me and I'd buy in lol

I'm sure most any team that passed on him is regretting it now. Most being the key word.

They ran in to the tall test of Aledo last year. I think this will be a close game but give the edge to Ennis. Not only is Jack there but Gary Vanya is the defensive coordinator
