Oh, I thought we were talking about popularity. Just your weekly reminder we have more money than anyone. Even the mighty SEC.

Texas has always had the money and quite likely will continue to have lots and lots of money - just does not always lead to wins on the field every year.

And TxHoops the conversation was about popularity till you made it about money - money does not always relate to popularity

Me thinks someone needs a course in Economics. Because in the world of sport, money almost always is about popularity.

@CBSSportsCFB: Dean wasn't cleared to play by Ohio St.'s medical staff, a decision his HS coach called "ridiculous" last month http://cbsprt.co/1FhC8Pg

Horns fan take on the SEC ?

Is the SEC overrated - if only the 2014 Season is the indicator than perhaps it is.

But if you look at the 2010 - 2014 Seasons then no it is not.  The only other conferences that could possibly boast of the claim as the best football conference would be the Pac 12 and perhaps from a Texas fans perspective the Big 12.

But lets look at W-L in bowl games - My opinion the best indicator of the depth of a conference since you remove most patty cakes and generally only the best survive to play.

SEC        63% Winning percentage (31-18)

Pac 12    54% Winning percentage (20-17)

Big 12     47% Winning percentage (18-20)

All things have a time limit and the SEC's may well be here but I think that after 1 sub-par year it may be too early to predict the death of the SEC as a power.
