I was surprised to see him at MLB.  He seems to be more of an outside guy, but he's very talented so I'm sure he will do well wherever they put him.

Freshman LB Cecil Cherry has been granted a transfer request.  Seems he was not getting the attention a 4 star recruit deserves and 3 star Freshman LB  B. Hager was out working him.

As of now, only 1 of the "Florida 5" is on campus in Austin.

It hasn't even been a week of practice and they haven't even put on pads yet.  Texas will be better off without him. Dang I sound like all of you sunshine pumpers with that statement.

Charlie seems to be loving this team and believes it will be much improved this year and a national contender next year.  All going to depend on QB play, which at this point seems to hinge on whether Swoopes has grown as much as they seem to think.  

As for Cherry, sorry you aren't the beast Malik is.  Don't feel bad, by all accounts, very few are...

Catalon walked out of practice yesterday.  Had slipped to third on the depth chart behind Foreman and rumors were Warren was about to pass him up as well. 

It is looking more and more like Heard may never see meaningful time on the 40 acres.  He has been unable to gain any traction since he's been there and Merrick appears to be poised to pass with him on the depth chart.  With the MVP of the Elite 11 QB Camp coming in next year, along with Kai Locksley likely redshirting, here's another kid who may be better off finding a place where he can find the field.

Again, kids don't generally transfer because they are succeeding.  And with Catalon and Cherry, despite being talented, those type of attitudes don't seem to fly at the Flagship under Strong.
