PhatMack19 Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 Vandy with their switch pitcher in for the 8th and 9th. I can't even wipe left handed much less pitch. He's pretty good Quote
PhatMack19 Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 Ags win 6-1! Kent with a complete game only allowing 4 hits. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 Ags get the day off tomorrow and will play the winner of Vandy/Alabama on Saturday in a single elimination semi final. The SEC tourney is a little different since they take 12 teams and try not to play a whole ton of games. Top 4 seeds get a bye. 1st round is single elimination, 2nd and 3rd is double elimination, semis and finals are single. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 #1 LSU v #20 Arkansas up next. Arkansas has been playing as well as anyone in the country after they started conference play 1-5 Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 Texas moved to 2-0 in the Big XII Tournament by beating Baylor 4-3. They will play Tech or Baylor on Saturday. Augie tying a knot in that rope. Quote
TxHoops Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 Texas moved to 2-0 in the Big XII Tournament by beating Baylor 4-3. They will play Tech or Baylor on Saturday. Augie tying a knot in that rope. The very thought of Augie being on the hot seat shows how clueless Patterson is. He happened to make an extraordinary hire for the hoops team, but in reality it was a no brainer. You do not call a man's job into question who is almost inarguably the greatest ever to hold such a job at the college level. And in the "what have you done for me lately" category, he did take a very overachieving team to within one game of the National Championship just one year ago. I know you probably agree but if he is actually on the hot seat, it is beyond ludicrous. Augie is very popular among the BMDs who are also "baseball guys." I would love to see Patterson further alienate himself, but not at this man's expense. Quote

If next year repeats this year then maybe - and I mean maybe there should be a discussion that maybe his best days are behind him. But1bad year - com'on lets not over react. Quote

IMO, he goes out on his own terms. He still recruits well and he did not lose his ability to coach over summer and fall. He finished 3rd in the country ONE YEAR AGO! And that was not close to one of his better teams. There is a reason Texas is arguably the most storied program in college baseball history. Gus and Augie. And we are lucky as heck to have had them both. To even have this discussion is silly at best. OldTimer 1 Quote
PhatMack19 Posted May 24, 2015 Author Report Posted May 24, 2015 Lsu Florida tied at 1 in the 9th Florida had 2 guys on with no outs in the 8th, hit a double to tie it and had runners caught out at 3rd then 2nd to kill the rally. Quote

king Posted May 24, 2015 Report Posted May 24, 2015 So whats up with the national seeds? Miami, UCLA, and LSU are just about as locked in as anyone. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted May 24, 2015 Author Report Posted May 24, 2015 So whats up with the national seeds? Miami, UCLA, and LSU are just about as locked in as anyone. Miami is on the bubble Ucla, LSU, Louisville, and Indiana are for sure. Miami, A&M, Florida, Vandy, DBU, Missouri State, and TCU are going for the last 4 spots National seed just means that they are guaranteed to host a Super Regional and avoid one of the other best teams. If you are 9th you could get put in a region with the #1 team. Baseball is different that they try to group teams together by location to save on travel. Quote
UTfanatic Posted May 24, 2015 Report Posted May 24, 2015 Texas up 6-3 in 8th. Bellows now pitching Quote
