Cowboys vs Packers

Recommended Posts

The only positive for the refs in this game is that the replay at the end completely took the focus off of the obvious blown replay in the 1st half that went a long way to helping the packers put up three at the end of the half. If they don't get three there, the play to dez would've never happened. Still, all that said, despite one blown call that MIGHT have led to Green Bay points in the first half (they still might have gotten there to kick it anyway), and another questionable call that cost the boys 7, had Murray held on to the ball and scored his 60 or 70 yard touchdown (10 point swing), and had romo or the coaches or bailey (take your pick) executed at the end of the first half (6 point swing), and had the defense been able to get a stop out of 3 or 4 chances in the late 3rd and 4th quarter, all this would've been a moot point. I thought the cowboys outplayed GB, and that GB caught several breaks, but still the boys should've been able to put this one away, with or without the dez play.

All I'm hearing is a bunch of whining from you cowgirls fans!!!

Can u tell me the last time that the houston franchise has played a meaningful game? I would guess your answer would be 1993, when they choked off a trip to the Super Bowl. Oh wait u may even say in 20001 when the new franchise, your beloved texans, played their first game. I know, they beat the COWBOYS, but is that what you are hanging your hat on. Your great franchise choked one off and then beat the only professional football team that matters in Texas.

I think they got it right according to the rule, but it's a stupid rule! If this would've been a running back with the ball on a running play, he would've been considered down because the ground can't cause a fumble, even though Dez never actually fumbled the ball. BS!!!

I thought it was a catch.

But reading the rule, by letter of the rule it was not a catch.

Stupid rule

Completely agree, their whole ruling was based on the idea that those steps were just part of his jump and falling. In that context he had to have possession after he hit the ground, he didn't, really no controversy there. The rule itself isn't good and leaves a gray area there.

Your right, there is a lot of crying from COWBOYS fans. It's because they matter!!! It's because their organization means something. Put in as much time as a TRUE fan and you may understand one day IF the texans can ever be the COWBOYS!!!

I ride or die for the Texans...hey I have a fishing spot for you and buddy come join us!!!

One more question on the call. If Dez had broken the plane of the goal line would it have been a touchdown?

No. Because by their interpretation he didn't maintain control of the ball while going to ground. So it would be different than if a running back had crossed the plain and done the same thing. Although had he lunged a little farther and reached it, they might have given it more consideration as a football move and let the play stand....

he reached as far as he could. Lol. Looks like if he had possession and then broke the plain it wouldn't matter if the ball hit the ground or not.

By the rule it would have mattered in the same circumstance because he still would have had to complete the catch, now being that he needed one more step, maybe they would have thought he gained his balance and took a step.

Not the case. Because it wasn't a matter of breaking the plain or not, it was a matter of maintaining control all the way to the ground, whether that ground was in the end zone or not. The ruling had everything to do with possession of the ball through the catch, and nothing to do with location on the field, because it was based on whether or not he maintained the reception to the ground. The ground can cause an incompletion, but not a fumble. This means if you fumble after crossing the goal line, it's a touchdown, but if you lose a reception after hitting the ground while crossing the goal line, it's still an incompletion.

Still enough out there for you and that crybaby...lol

Crying? You've been crying since 1993. Again, at least the COWBOYS are worth crying over. I wish I could understand where you are coming from but I can't. My favorite team has never left. My favorite team has not changed names. They are and always will be the COWBOYS!!!

Three things I took from this game.

1. Dallas needs a pass rushing specialist like J.J.Watt.

2. Dallas needs to run the ball on 3rd and less than 4.

3. Romo needs to throw the ball away instead of taking sacks for 10 yard losses(in a row)

Not blaming anyone in particular. Rodgers got away from the rush too many times for me.

Oh well, I'm still a Cowboy fan and will be till I die. I don't jump ship for anything.
