STiger85 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Great game. Dang it!!! IT WAS NOT A CATCH!!! I hate it but it wasn't. I like what Dallas has coming back next year. Oh well. Quote
baddog Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Hard to be mad about a couple of calls going against the boys. They blew enough chances that they still should've won by double digits My last post on the bad call, then it becomes whining. I thought it was a catch and a fumble, although his right elbow appeared to be down before hitting the ground with the ball. Purely a judgement cal and it didn't go our way. Worst case should have been Cowboy ball on the one. Quote
bullets13 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Never made "football move". Should have controlled it before the stretch That's the debate. He caught the ball, took two steps as he was being brought down and stretched towards the goal line before the ball came out. It can be debated either way, with packers fans and people like you obviously saying it was an incompletion, and cowboys fans obviously saying a catch. I personally think that the two steps and stretch towards the goal line were both football moves, and thought the call should've stood, but then again, I'm a cowboys fan. Quote
badndn Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 I see New England and Seattle in the SB. Nobody is beating the C-Hawks NDNation 1 Quote
BS Wildcats Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 You a Packer fan? No, just for anybody who plays Dallas. Texan fan Quote
ST413 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 That's not the rule. There has to be clear evidence to overturn the call. There was clear evidence that the ball hit the ground, my big problem was that he seemed to have the ball plenty long enough for a catch but they looked t it as he was falling the entire time and never made a move. I thought it was a catch and a fumble, although his opposit elbow appeared to be down before hitting the ground with the ball. Purely a judgement cal and it didn't go our way. Worst case should have been Cowboy ball on the one. The only debate is whether or not he made a football move. The ground can cause an incompletion, even if his elbow hit first. Quote
baddog Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 No, just for anybody who plays Dallas. Texan fan Yeah, I forgot. Quote
bullets13 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 O'dell Beckham AND the Lions organization both already tweeting they thought it was a catch... Oh well. Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Dez shoulda covered the ball as he rolled into the endzone. Quote
bullets13 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Dez shoulda covered the ball as he rolled into the endzone. I'm sure in his mind with the amount of time he'd already controlled the ball he thought he already had the catch Quote
Baba Ganoush Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 That just stated rule that you have to show you have control all the way thru when you catch and come to the ground. Touched or not, he was going down and had to show control throughout. ...and Mack, that angle clearly shows the ball hit the ground. I'm sure you're drunk and just missed it Quote
badndn Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 You watch. NFL will say call was wrong and apologize and blah, blah, blah...And Packers play Seattle next week. Quote
ST413 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 The hard part is this is one call you really feel may have changed the outcome. Now granted they still had to get in the end zone and stop GB it could have ended in a loss anyway but I think with the time left it was a good chance that that would have been the game winning drive. no-look Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Dez shoulda covered the ball as he rolled into the endzone. are they saying he never had possession of the ball? I'm still confused. Quote
TxHoops Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Reaching for the goal line is not a football move? It's a move you only use in football!!!! Quote
PhatMack19 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 The only debate is whether or not he made a football move. The ground can cause an incompletion, even if his elbow hit first. Is 3 steps and a dive for the goaline not considered a football move? Quote
jordibug15 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 It's okay. We were suppose to be 3-13 and worst D in NFL history. Guess what won the NFC East, 8-1 on road, amazing D. I'm ready for next season!!!! Quote
Baba Ganoush Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 are they saying he never had possession of the ball? I'm still confused. Said he did not show control thru the catch. Dumb rule from a few years ago. Quote
bullets13 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 The cowboys are a couple of secondary players away from being a complete football team. I'll be curious what they do in the off season, and if they fill those holes, are able to resign dez, and if they do resign him, what other holes they have to poke in the team to be able to afford to keep him. Quote
Eazy Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 It was clearly a catch. Dez had control as he stretched for the goal line. Dumb rule. Dallas gets hosed. Quote
bullets13 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Is 3 steps and a dive for the goaline not considered a football move? It is in my opinion. I guess because the dive wasn't a full on stretch the replay ref saw it differently. One thing is for sure: between the obvious blown instant replay in the first half, and this one in the 2nd which was marginal at best, the conspiracy theorists claiming that the refs sabotaged last weeks game to get the boys into the Super Bowl no longer have a leg to stand on. Baba Ganoush Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 It was clearly a catch. Dez had control as he stretched for the goal line. Dumb rule. Dallas gets hosed. Clearly a catch a few years ago. Not now. Quote
badndn Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Gotta agree that I don't think Dallas keeps Rogers and Co. from at the very least kicking a go ahead FG Quote
