AggiesAreWe Posted January 15, 2015 Author Report Posted January 15, 2015 From KOGT.com: The Bridge City School Board will meet Monday evening and it's expected that they will approve the hiring of Dwayne Dubois as Head Football Coach at BC High School. Dubois has been the head football coach at Hardin-Jefferson High School in Sour Lake the past two seasons, producing two playoff teams. Before that, the BC native was a long time assistant coach under Jeff Mathews at Vidor. Richard Briggs will remain Bridge City's Athletic Director. Quote
prepballfan Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 And that is the coach I was told they were going after. Then I was told to keep it under raps!!!! skipper 1 Quote
AshlyHasBeen Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 Not a huge surprise. Going home means a lot. A year after Nederland went to state Coach Stone left to coach us at PN-G. Home is where the heart is. walldrill and skipper 2 Quote

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 At least he'll have an experienced QB to start off with. Hope they give Dubois time to build his program. Quote
Guest MTJ Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 Congratulations to DuBois and Bridge City Hardin Jefferson will continue in the right direction. I believe he has left his foot print on that program and they'll build off his foundation. From essentially non-existent 3-4 years ago, to now recognized state wide as a football success They will get very good looks as well, for AD/Head Football Coach Quote
braves24 Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 Great hire! Will bring a lot of success to BC, hopefully they hand him the AD position after this year Alpha Wolf 1 Quote

Uncle Pig Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 Why in the hell did he take that job??? He could've done so much better after the 2 great years he had at HJ. I thought for sure he would get a 5A or 6A job. Smh! Alpha Wolf 1 Quote
Kj Dad Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 Major upgrade, BC played abunch of Underclassman this past year. I know for a fact there sophomore class has a bunch of talent! They just need a coach to coach em up! Congratulations to BC on getting a great coach! redbirdsrock 1 Quote

TxHoops Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 I like the talent a lot better at HJ. But home is home. And who knows what BC is capable of with a culture change. Which is exactly what that program needs. I am sure he will be successful with the Cardinals. Great coach and person. Wish him the best (most games). If they don't, they won't be successful any time soon. Can't imagine them ever making a better hire. Not a slam against BC as much as a compliment on the hire. And I think they know that. He will be given plenty of time I would think. And they will be very competitive by year 2, if not sooner. Quote
