_chorizo11
Their is some talent around here..this may be the last year for some of the talent on the hardwood..C.O.has a good possibility of this being the last year for 3 of the 5 starters....good chance they will go football baseball only in high school next year..if not more, those 5 boys have played baseball, football, and basketball together since they were 7 and been very successful at all 3...they are more like brothers so who knows what will happen...but as a dad, a fan, and just the love for sports, I'd take a loss like we did to vincent Saturday by 2,, versus beating teams by 30 or 40 any day of the week..competition is what it is all about..good luck to the rest of these young men for the remainder of the season.. DeuceSixSuited
Braelon Bush is in 7th grade. And yes, He is THE BEST 7th grader in this area for sure...Possibly Texas. If you want to know who are the best 7th graders in the area... Check out SETX Heat's 7th grade team AKA 409 ELITE (New Name).... Their top 7 players are they best in the area. DeuceSixSuited
McCain and Adams are Great. Both have a chance to be on varsity with a very special team in silsbee. Hiltz from Nederland is legit also. Plays with heart and works his butt off..That is rare these days

ST413
I finally got to see this group in Silsbee. That starting 5 is real good. They only played together for parts or most of the 1st and 3rd quarters and it was impressive.
Bigcam2903
Don't mean a thing until they prove themselves on the Varsity level. I'm all for keeping an eye on a kid, but Crowning them before they play Varsity is...................... you know Many kids in MS bloom/mature before their peers. Let's revisit this thread in 2-3 yrs & see that list disappear. Many of these kids will go from the Best to a participant or not playing at all. I truly wish All these kids much Success, but let's not put anymore pressure on them that they haven't already placed on themselves. Youth Summer Coaches please quit telling these kids they are the Best in this area. A group of kids to come through a particular School comes through every Blue Moon, those that reach their HS potential come around once in a lifetime. Keep working hard Coaches, that's the only formula for Success. 87JAG

Many of these kids will go from the Best to a participant or not playing at all. I 100% agree. You see it all the time. I saw a kid crossing up other kids his age. His daddy thought he was the best. His coach said the other guard would be better than him because he listen instead of thinking he knew everything. 3 years later when everyone could do the same things as he could he would get frustrated and cry during the game. He went from the "best" to a participant to not playing at all. I've seen it in several sports. Usually they daddy blame it on the coach. It's okay for a spectator parent to be biased towards their kid. But, remember that their body of work will speak for itself.
