king
How long would you give a coach to turn a program around. If he does not show any improvement by year 4 is thier seat hot? My boss at work is an Aggie fan and he told me that if Sumlin has a dissapointing year like this past season. That he should be let go. Same thing for Charlie Strong, how long do you give him to show improvement. if 2017 is still the same as now for the Horns..
PhatMack19
Depends on the school and its history. Iowa seems happy to make their coach one of the highest paid in the country and be average. Strong won't get that much time before the Big Cigars get restless. Sumlin bought himself more time with Johmny.

Strong needs to win now.
king
I don't see strong winning until another 3 years..
BlackShirts5
Depends on the school. Iowa seems pretty happy with their coach. Penn St, FSU, Georgia, and a ton of other schools all had coaches for a long time that had down year stretches. I think Strong will start winning next year or year 3. Sumlin is going to struggle. I just haven't ever liked his product. 9 wins isnt enough in Huskerland as we all seen this past season.
Anafanatic
Sumlin's offensive product is fine...he's just never had a defense to match. However, I think it's obvious Kevin is eager to remedy that problem. Let's face the facts here though, if Chavis doesn't work out Sumlin is out. All signs point to an improvement here as the defense can't get any worse. Strong will not start winning next year, Horn's will more than likely be 1-5 or at best 2-4 going into their first open week; but the future does look brighter...IMO Nebraska along with everyone else in the Big10 are screwed...Buckeyes will remain on top for a while...call it as I see it

But Texas is Texas and play in the Big 12. They will get back to winning soon.
Anafanatic
Of course Texas will get back to winning, I never expected them not to; however, total dominance of the state will never happen again... Mr. Buddy Garrity
CRUSHCOACH
A&M's defense will never amount to a whole lot as long as their offense remains the way it is. You can't expect a defense to stay on the field as much as they do and be great.

Tend to agree - but I do not expect great - just get a stop now and again would help. :)
Mr. Buddy Garrity
Of course Texas will get back to winning, I never expected them not to; however, total dominance of the state will never happen again... The state (power 5 conference teams) as a whole will be switching back and forth with each other soon as far as being a playoff contender, too much talent from the HS level staying in state not for it to soon happen, add in FBS head coaches on staffs that know the HS coaches here……. There is no reason for a university from our state to not be in the playoffs each year.

We don't expect total dominance. Another Natty will be just fine.
Anafanatic
^^ you must not be a typical Longhorn fan...expecting total dominance is what led the horns to where they are today...middle of the road big12 team
