jdawg03 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Please nominate players that have performed exceptionally during this week...Also give stats or reasons why the player deserves to win
jdawg03 Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 The Neal kid from HF was the best I saw all week, anyone got any stats on him?
adminbaberuth Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 jdawg I will try to help on stats, would you comment on the catch's you saw today.
jdawg03 Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 wow....thats all i can say about them....Two diving catches....Looks like to me its a toss up between Neal and Dishon for the two best centerfielders in the area
adminbaberuth Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Dishon is special, but really Neal is a RF, as HF's normal CF is Joey Johnson who was on the mound today. This year it seems that pitching and outfielders are the strongest positions of the local talent.
NeDeRlAnD b-DoG fAn Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Nederland ace threw a complete game 1-hitter with 8 strikeouts in a 7-0 win vs Beaumont Central Nederland's Beau Helmke pitched a complete game with 7 strikeout and allowed no earned runs in the 4-1 win vs Beaumont Ozen In two games vs Ozen and Central Chris Laird had 2 triples and 2 doubles in the lead-off spot for Nederland (not sure how many RBIs)
jdawg03 Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 Seems like Ferguson from Westbrook had two good games this week against some stiff competition...what were the stats on him MIF?
adminbaberuth Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Seems like Ferguson from Westbrook had two good games this week against some stiff competition...what were the stats on him MIF? I seen the Ferguson kid play against Kingwood and he had the best at bats against quality pitching in the WB line-up. I believe he was 3 for 4. He was unlucky early in the game, as he was really on their pitcher when the bat was taken out of his hand with a caught stealing.
bearbacker09 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 How about Clayton Ehlert. I think 7 innings this week against 2 tough district teams. 0 runs, maybe 2 hits and I think something like 14 strikeouts. And I am sure he had some offensive stats too, but I am not sure.
jdawg03 Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 Elhert could probably qualify for player of the week every week
RaiderFan99 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Although he went 0-2 against LC-M. Darby Chilek (Lumberton's CF) was 3-5 with 2 doubles 3 runs scored 3 Rbi's and 4 SB this week. If anyone was at either LCM or Vidor's game. You would have seen about 4-5 great catches he had out there in CF. The boy can really go and get them.
SteelerCzy Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Kevin Angelle with 15 k's against a state ranked Jasper squad is my nomination.
tnl91 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 I WAS AT THE NED. AND OZEN GAME AND LAIRD DID NOT HAVE A TRIPLE :?:
MIF04 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Ferguson (WB) was 5/8 with 5 R and 3 RBI in games vs. Kingwood and Spring. He also had 4 SB for the week.
NeDeRlAnD b-DoG fAn Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 he had 2 triples against Central
NeDeRlAnD b-DoG fAn Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Laird had 2 triples against Central
adminbaberuth Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Hamshire-Fannett's Eric Neal 3 Games 9IP 1 Win.....2 Saves....2 ER...8ks .400 average this week at the plate outstanding catches in the outfield
Bears Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 LCM Players: Wes Schneider .571 for the week DB. Landon Womack .500 HR, DB and 5ip no -hits as part of a combined no-hitter with Ehlert.
FanOfTheGame Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Vote goes to Landon Womack LCM Womack: Came in for 5 innings behind Ehlert and shut out Lumberton for a combo no-hitter, Best junk pitcher I've seen. Helping himself with a Walk Off Home Run to end the game under the 10 run rule. Stats for week: .500 HR,DB and 5 Inning No-Hitter to Close out the game.
jdawg03 Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 Winner is................. Eric Neal of Hamshire-Fannett........ Congrats!
