I understand the intent. Trying to make a deeper playoff run...but that's just rediculous.

Was this like a league game or something? Or some type of seeding game?... If so they should've just flipped.

By the way...an administrator went up to the coach and asked why the starters weren't in...I would've told him that I'll play who I want when I want.

I don't agree with the coaches decision, but where in the rule books does it say you are not allowed to lose on purpose? That is why you should go to a coin toss to decide the tie breaker for seeding if it is not to decide a championship.

Well, this is a potential buzz kill for future interviews. "I see here on your resume you were released from your last coaching position because you tried to lose. Care to explain?"

I don't have a copy of their state's rulebook, but I can almost guarantee you there are some clauses in their based on the spirit of fair play and competition that could easily be used to hand down this punishment.
