smitty Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Dang, just think how big these icebergs would be if there WASN'T global warming! ;) http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/03/09/giant-icebergs-wash-ashore-on-cape-cod/ Quote
EnlightenedMessiah Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Looks like you figured this science thing out smitty, bravo Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
smitty Posted March 10, 2015 Author Report Posted March 10, 2015 From the article: "When Dr. Roy Spencer, a climate scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, looked up summer temperature data for the U.S. Corn Belt, it showed no warming trend for over a century. But that was before temperatures were “adjusted†by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration climate scientists. Now the same data shows a significant warming trend." http://dailycaller.com/2015/03/09/more-evidence-of-climate-data-tampering-by-noaa/ Quote

stevenash Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 If the change was made because something was wrong, it indicates to me that science is far less than as exact than some portray it to be. The FDA had a position recommending baby aspirin for daily use for people at risk for heart attacks for a very long time. They have now reversed that position. Who is to say that it may not be reversed time and again? Quote
bullets13 Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 I'm undecided about the exact extent of global warming, but these types of articles and arguments always make me laugh. They're no more valid than me coming on here during a 97 degree day in august and saying "see, I told you global warming is real!" Mr. Buddy Garrity and thetragichippy 2 Quote

EnlightenedMessiah Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 lol you're kidding right? Do you want scientists to not change their positions when new information and scientific breakthroughs come out?If the change was made because something was wrong, it indicates to me that science is far less than as exact than some portray it to be. stevenash Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 No different than the recent decision that cholesterol is suddenly not as damaging to you as it was once thought to be. Not so sure that is a big breakthrough. Quote
CraigS Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 When someone explains the shrinking glaciers, I will listen. https://www.cdm.org/mammothdiscovery/wheniceages.html I've explained this before....it's nothing new. I chose this link because of it's simplicity - there are plenty others to explain in more depth. Do I believe we are experiencing global warming - YES, otherwise we would still be in the latest ice age. The earth cycles, it will continue to cycle....nothing MAN did or can do to change that..... jv_coach Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 http://www.populartechnology.net/2013/02/the-1970s-global-cooling-alarmism.html 1970s Global Cooling Alarmism "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." – George Santayana During the 1970s the media promoted global cooling alarmism with dire threats of a new ice age. Extreme weather events were hyped as signs of the coming apocalypse and man-made pollution was blamed as the cause. Environmental extremists called for everything from outlawing the internal combustion engine to communist style population controls. "Pollution Prospect A Chilling One" Quote
