ST413 Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 And I just heard they are playing for championship. Quote
TxHoops Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 Ok was just told he was on this team and the 7 th grade team and had to choose one. He chose the 7th grade team. Gotcha. He will probably play some with both. He's a go getter and he can probably run the show more with the 13s. Quote
Tyler Dixson Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 I loved that about Dill and AJ. We always sued tournaments up for every age group when we were still the ballhawks. Congrats to the local talent showing out. Quote
Who That Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Who is the 6'3 8th grader from Port Arthur that plays with Devon and them ?? Quote
thegoat Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Just talked to Bush dad Bralon had to play with 7th grade cause he couldn't play with both because if he continued to play with defenders the 7 grade team would have to forfeit the two games they won so his dad told him to play with the 7 grade cause that was the right thing to do also heard in the semifinal game against Houston elite he scored 40 plus to beat them Quote
Who That Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 I don't know who any others are.A little bird to me that the youngster from P.A.M that was playing with Devon was going to be a Tiger next year.. Quote
thegoat Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 He just in the 7th also his name is Nate Quote
TxHoops Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Who is the 6'3 8th grader from Port Arthur that plays with Devon and them ?? Not sure. There was a kid about that height whose dad is a coach at Central. They have a kid from Austin with some size. And a 6'5 kid that went to Marshall this year. Quote

Tyler Dixson Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Kevin Dotson the Central coaches son is a beast. Him and Bush were the best two kids in the private school league this season. Along with Drew Rawls. Quote
Who That Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 I just know he is real good friends with Devon they been playing together for a while they say.. Quote

He put his team on his back and went to work. He proved to be the best 7th grade player in the Houston area. And it is only the beginning Quote
Mamba Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 I think you have to mention Texas Future Basketball as a very solid 16u group . This group comprised of 9 soph and 1 freshman won the Gold Championship going 4-1 and beating Dallas Showtyme to take the crown. They have bigs and guards that can really play 😎 winwin and TxHoops 2 Quote

Great group of kids with a great coach Quote
Bmt_4now Posted March 25, 2015 Author Report Posted March 25, 2015 I watched the 409 elite the 17u and they competed well but just didn't finish and I c that everybody's is still sleeping on the Bmt legacy player that's just 15 years old will not say his name, but when taking with his dad he said that should be motivation for him to step his game up! BLUEDOVE3 Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 They played good the team was out of sinc today. We saw two games. They lost their first two but won the first bracket game. I can see why everyone has strong opinions of Aau. Brady and others were trying to get them to play together more instead of more as individuals. And to play better on defense. They definitely don't play at the same pace or intensity as a high school game. Of course I don't know how often they all get to practice together. They were also missing a couple players one of I will name since Brady has Grayland Armold. The plus size of Aau is definitely exposure and time on the court if they make the effort to make that time count. You will definitely get stronger and better inside because very few fouls are called!!?, Hmmm, sounds like another convert over to the dark side :D Quote
Bmt_4now Posted March 25, 2015 Author Report Posted March 25, 2015 The kid is a really solid player and I think if his parents was to let him go back to public school he'll put up the numbers to get recognized in Setx! Quote
BLUEDOVE3 Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 Thats right guys. Get those kids better so those "truly sponsored" sneaker teams snatch them up. Quote
Bmt_4now Posted March 25, 2015 Author Report Posted March 25, 2015 I understand what you're saying and I agree with you they do not play as a team it is too much one on one ball...and if you don't want to play defense put them on the bench. Quote
Bmt_4now Posted March 25, 2015 Author Report Posted March 25, 2015 Also agree with you BlueDove3 and that's how it works in AAU basketball if another team see you have game and think your coach is over looking you they'll snatch them up real fast Quote
ST413 Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 Hmmm, sounds like another convert over to the dark side :D Ha! No converting here, I understand some strong points but think one of those supposed strong points may be a weak point as well. I really prefer watching the school teams play. More pride and better play generally. I like anyone else like to see som of the better individual plays but would rather see them happen in a good team game than just trying to make them happen over and over. The jr high kids games were better this weekend just a better flow I guess. I had one question, this weekend , but don't want it to sound like a coach criticism. It is more of wondering if it's for aau reasons or avoiding any problems from parents or just purely a coaches decision. Brady has 4 Tiger starters and Barnes and Mayes. I wondered especially this close to the end of their school season, why those four and one of the other two were never on the floor at the same time or at least that I can remember or saw. It seemed to me that in the first game I saw the end of the game would have been a great time to throw 5 of them out there and let them play that smothering Tiger D and create some offense from it. They know where each other is going to be better than anyone else at this point. Like I said I am just wondering don't want to criticize Brady, it is great he puts so much in to this. Quote
