Could it be a simple mistake for an entire officiating crew to call fourth down when in reality it is only third down?  This happened in a tight game that I watched this past football season, the team actually had the ball on the 35 or so and it was third and two to go for the first, but somehow the officiating crew called it fourth and two which resulted in a punt instead of an opportunity at a first down.  Everyone in the stands new it was 3rd down, both sides, our coaches argued it to no avail.  The opposing coach (who is a classy guy) comes over after the game and appologizes and explained that he new it was third down but couldnt very well argue the call for the other team being this was a district game with playoff implications.  How does that happen with that many officials on the field and sidelines, not one of them said that they thought it was third down, in thier minds ALL OF THEM new it was fourth down.  This was early in a game that was chocked full of blown or fishy calls.  As a matter of fact at the end of the first half the penalty differential between the two teams was something like 14-1 and the other teams one penalty was in the last seconds of the first half.

Why didn't the teams coach call a time out and discuss with the Ref's BEFORE the play continued.....?

El Guapo, the comment was made after someone posted a remark about the reservation being a bad place for officiating. Some people just can't stand to be scalped.

Its no big secret that it is a bad place for officiating .

I saw a roughing the kicker called on a block field goal in warren about 4 years ago. Ball blocked the kicker got hit. Refs tried to get Warren a win. Didn't work out that way bc of a fumble but refs did their best to get warriors a win.

Was the guy that blocked the kick the guy that contacted the kicker? Because it's still roughing if it was someone else.
