And also considering how game limits have changed it would be better to list teams who have won a national championship with two or fewer losses which is 28. Out of those since Indiana went undefeated 7 having finished the season with 2 losses including the 1996 Wildcats and 1992 Blue Devils at 34-2. Both played the most games they could have at the time.
