You often give information out about the SNAP program (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)and appear to be a strong proponent of it. Can you explain why the number of SNAP recipients grew by 69% from 2008 through 2013 and yet, during the same period, the poverty rate grew by just 16.5%?

Its in todays Wall Street Jounal (SEction a Page 15) but link is available only to paid subscribers.  Sometimes after a day or two, the link becomes available.  The article is entitled- The Next Welfare Reform: Food Stamps.  If you google that phrase, it may show up later this evening.

I haven't seen the article, but if poverty grows by 1%, how much do you think snap will rise?
