Answer to your opening  statement.. All Silsbee fans with the exception of AAW are whiners.....
1.)They sure don't.... But they do reap the benefits....Whiner.
2.) That was aimed at a whiner like you...
3.) Notice the word "you"..... That was aimed at a whiner like you...

You read the thread right..... Did Silsbee bat off Brennon Moore for 7innings? Did Silsbee bat off Chase Sugart for 7 innings? How many more D-1 commits BC have? Im stating facts, not whining.... You lost.. You'll get another chance in a couple weeks... Remember the baseball GODS?

No answers.  Just bloviating and uh.... whining.

No I referenced a PROFESSIONAL stadium that played day games for decades. It was not the end of the world for them and it won't be the end of the world for a local high school to play afternoon games either. It's easy to say that all fields should be lighted but if you aren't the ones writing the checks then you're just like me, someone with an opinion.

You are right. It's all an opinion but this is where parents are trying to see their kids play. It should be made where these parents can get to the games and an early game just isn't so for most working parents. I have seen some big numbers for cost but have heard that some of those are about double what the cost should be. I dont have any knowledge on that myself.

Just a few more points and I'll let my part of this topic rest. The Cubs built their stadium in 1914 and waited 64 for years before adding lights, so I'm guessing night baseball isn't the end all. Also when you look at the local teams schedules most only play 6 or 7 homes games with a 7pm start time. Is 6 home games enough to justify a 200k investment. It's not my money so I can't answer that question.

Having a baseball field with out lights is not the end of the world folks. There was a PROFFESIONAL complex that didn't have lights for years . It's easy to say these complexes should not have been built without lights but this is real money folks. I'm sure there were some tight budget constraints on athletic facilities because neither gym in the new facility is very large. When you are responsible for passing bond issues and writing checks you don't have unlimited funding !!. Most afternoon games are finished without a hitch.

did you really just reference a stadium that was built in the 1910's....... WOW

why does the football need lights then?

So are we going to leave out the FACT that they played without lights for 64 years ?? They had the money and chose to keep the stadium unique. I personally don't have a dog in this fight just trying to show there are two sides to every debate. My kids played their entire high school baseball seasons on a field without lights while all their little league games had lights. Did I enjoy coaching and watching them at night?? yes but not anymore than I did in the afternoon.

Just a question , why do the teams that have lights seem to play as many afternoon games as night games ? I'm not a die hard high school football fan so you'll have to get someone else to answer that question.
