Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 @Matt_Stepp817: Big news coming out of the Dallas Cowboys sched release, they have a home game on Saturday Dec. 19 will this force a #UILState move? #txhsfb Let the debate begin…. Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted April 22, 2015 Author Report Posted April 22, 2015 Lawd help us if Highland Park gets to State, they might hold all games at SMU or Tyler Rose. Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted April 22, 2015 Author Report Posted April 22, 2015 Houston! Makes too much sense there or Alamodome, should make for a good debate, I say Bivins in Amarillo. Go UIL! Quote
WO-S 89 Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Instead of having it Dec 17-19 have it Dec 16-18 Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
liltex Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Welp UIL will move the HS games to Wed-Thurs-Fri on Dec 16-18,they aren't going to move anytime soon until another stadium builds multiple locker rooms that can accommodate another 2 teams while 2 are currently playing ;)I would like to see the revenue/venue split.Ticket price of $15 for all day is great, unless you're fasting concessions get pricey=example $5 bottle water,Jerry has cornered the market for worlds 1st $25 hamburger w/16 oz patty even smokinbaby would have trouble getting his mouth over :o  Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted April 22, 2015 Author Report Posted April 22, 2015 Short turnaround time eh? Will the UIL do it? I see controversy Quote
liltex Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 It's certainly gonna mess up some already reserved hotel dates Quote
RaiderRed30 Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Houston! San Antonio is the only logical choice if every game will be played at the same site. Houston only works for 6A and if a Beaumont area school makes it in another division. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Just don't play it in Austin. NRG is only logical choice. BADSANTA 1 Quote
Scatright Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Kinda hoping it ends up in HTX. Only a 20 min drive from the house!! BADSANTA 1 Quote
Uncle Pig Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday...keep it at Cowboy Stadium, the greatest stadium in the world Ty Cobb 1 Quote
RaiderRed30 Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday...keep it at Cowboy Stadium, the greatest stadium in the world Won't happen. All 2A and 3A games would have to be played on Thursday the week before for any chance of a Wednesday final. No team is going to want to have their semifinal on a weeknight. Quote
HIGHpoint96 Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Ive got it down to a delicious money saving science. You get the $10 free refill popcorntub and buy a bottled water itll run you about $13. They have like six different flavors you can sprinkle on top. get it filled once every game use a different flavor and you have snacks for all day, and if you plan your flavors right its like a new freshly popped snack every time, and the water bottle can be refilled all day in the refreshingly cold water fountains found all over the stadium. But if you wanna go big, and stick it to Eagles fans, get the philly cheese steak BALL OUT!! You're welcome Texas. Quote
Cougar14.2 Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 This is story Stepp was tweeting about. SA would be a central location for almost everybody but the Alamodome probably doesn't have the capacity to hold the Saturday games. UIL wants it in a dome on turf so there's only 3 stadiums in Texas that qualify. Article says Jerry might petition the NFL to get the game date changed also. http://texashsfootball.com/2015/04/state-high-school-football-championships-moving/ Quote
RaiderRed30 Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Don't know how to copy and paste a table, but out of the 24 teams playing in the final game of the season last year, only 5 teams would have traveled less to play at NRG Stadium. Two teams would have had to travel over 550 miles if it was in Houston (one of those teams was the second Thursday game). The Alamodome holds 65,000. If the games were played there 6 teams would have traveled less than how far they actually traveled. Comparing NRG to the Alamodome, 10 out of the 24 would travel less if it was at the Alamodome. Finally in terms of neutral site: Cowboys worked well for about 3 or 4 of the games, NRG would have worked well for none, and the Alamodome would have worked well for 4 of the games. Quote

With Jerry Jones bring the most powerful owner in all of pro sports go ahead and bet on that being done. Having the championship games any place other than the finest stadium in the world would be a travesty. Quote
Guest ECBucFan Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Make no mistake about it: The games WILL remain in Dallas. The UIL will cave to Jones regardless if there are NFL changes or not. They will force an 8AM Wednesday morning Championship game if it comes to it rather than fairly rotate the venues. Its a sad fact that DFW teams will always have their home field advantages in the ultimate game. Their players will rest well in their own beds the night before and have overpowering fan bases that are just minutes away to support them. I would love to see NRG host for a few years. Lets see how the long travel and hotel rooms affect the DFW guys for a change. I would love to see H-town and SETX lay a few beat downs on them. Quote

If you argue with that you are lost. Aledo, Ennis, Cedar Hill, Allen. The previous year Argyle, Aledo, Denton Guyer, Cedar Hill, Allen. That's hard to argue Quote

The previous year Argyle, Aledo, Denton Guyer, Cedar Hill, Allen. That's hard to argue Cedar Hill won by 3 over Katy. Ennis won by 3 over Cedar Park. (On last second play and aided by bad calls) Aledo won by 4 over Temple. Three of the largest games were decided by a whopping 3 or 4 points. Home field advantage can account for that. So DFW is at "another level" with their 3 point, home feild wins, huh? Do some research before you post. Quote

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted April 22, 2015 Author Report Posted April 22, 2015 Actually Ennis did not have homefield advantage, now CP on the other hand……….. Well, we all seen it. ;) Quote
