Guest Bridge City Card Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Who would you guys and gals consider Coach of the year? Any Class?
Guest Nederland Bulldogs Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 English/Nederland if we can finish out with W's.
hj_hawk_60 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Coach Sutherland at HJ... he's brought these guys a long way, and im hoping that they can keep going and win it all...GO HJ!!!!
Big Thicket Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 I agree with WHIRAQFAN.... Coach Fuller! For many reasosn.. Some listed below as I quote "fan4all"....I said it before, and now I'll say it again...look no further for your "Coach of the Year"...Coach Kent Fuller deserves the trophy! I have never met a coach who showed so much heart, so much class, so much integrity, and so much love as this man does. If you've never had the blessing of meeting him, count it a loss. Of course, there is a reason he is all of those things, and that is what makes him extra special as well...he doesn't mind sharing why he is so different. "The Light" truly shines in this man... on and off the court! Way to go Coach, and way to go Oilers. WH is blessed to have such a great team and a great coach to support...
Guest allsportsfan Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Kent Fuller, West Hardin. 24-1, great class, and has kept the guys playing every game.
whsalum Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Cris Carter from Warren has taken a team loaded with Juniors and has a 23-5 record. He has the kids believing in the system and could very possibly make the playoffs this year.I know he has been in a couple of lively topics this year, but the people that know him have the utmost respect for him.On the girls side I would go with Bob Kellum from Silsbee, look up class in the dictionary and thats who you find.
Guest ECBucFan Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Why don't we let the season finish, might change...
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 I'll pick Boutte too. Kountze and EC coaches should be in the runnings. Dont' forget about the Memorial coach. All of them have done a great job of their programs.
sports_mom Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 With a record of 24-1 my votes goes to Coach Kent Fuller of West Hardin
WarriorSports Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Fuller from West Hardin for sure..I laughing stock a few years ago turned into a true contender!!!
Guest D6 Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 With three games left, it could change. If you go by record alone, then Fuller or Boutte. If you go by which coach has turned a program around, it has to be Brian English. What he has done with a young team in Nederland is amazing!
basketballislife Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Coach Abel PNG. He has done some good things with the kids this year, I know he opened some eyes. He had some good players also, but he sure did outsmart a lot of coaches this year! They were pretty exciting to watch this year...
AI_Fan Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Coach Fuller From WH he really deserves this ;D
sportsmom3 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 turning programs around????? the west hardin gym was at capacity friday night!!!WH has never had what we have now.....no matter which way you look at it..Coach Fuller gets my vote!!
t-time Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 1. Fuller2. Sutherland-closing on 400 wins, I know that's not just this year, but it's a big milestone
sportsmom3 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 wow, thats impressive....how long has he been coaching?
WHMOM Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 I have to agree with Sportsmom3...West Hardin has never packed the gym for a basketball game. My vote goes to Coach Fuller..
UT#1 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 chris carter from warren hits over 500 on his career and takes a team and turns the win and loss column around ......
Guest WB42 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 This should be vote for the best coach of your school, because that's all that's happening. Whoever started this post should put a rule to vote on anyone but your own coach and see what happens.
bballchick Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 WB42, that's not entirely true...not all of the votes for Coach Fuller have come from West Hardin fans. I do have to throw my vote in for Coach Fuller. This is only his second year coaching varsity basketball, fourth year coaching period. I've never seen a group of guys buy into a coach and play as hard for him as I've seen the Oilers do w/ Coach Fuller. I've been around a lot of coaches in my life and what Fuller brings to the table on every level is not easy to find.
