jdawg03 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Roebuck pitched for HJ.... Both pitchers only allowed 3 hits.... Ferguson Benson Ricosa all had hits for HJ with Ricosa driving in the only run
ESPN Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Roebuck gave up 5 hits had 9 K's and 2 walks..
ESPN Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Where's all those HJ folks that said HJ was going to win by 5 or 6 runs???
jdawg03 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 i dont think so...im pretty sure both pitchers only gave up 3 hits........
Homer Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Roebuck did give up 5 hits. I got a call from the game after it was over and Eric Sparks went 2-3 along with his 16 K's. Tim McLelland drove in the 2 runs with a single up the middle in the 4th. Jacoby Franks had an infield hit and Terry Veitch had a line drive in the right center gap over the 2nd baseman's head. Congrats to the Mustangs!! I also hear that Sparks was robbed of a shutout when in the 7th a kid from HJ got in a rundown and blatantly ran out of the baseline to avoid a tag. If the right call is made Sparks gets the shutout. But I would be willing to bet he is happy with a W and a 1-0 district record!!
jdawg03 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Roebuck did give up 5 hits....from what I hear 2 of the runs that were scored were because Roebuck walked the guys...and then they were batted in
Homer Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 24 3A will be interesting this year!! BC 1-0 HF 1-0 WOS 1-0 HJ 0-1 Orangefield 0-1 Anahuac 0-1 Friday BC vs HJ HF vs Orangefield WOS vs Anahuac
Homer Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 from what I heard I think 1 of them was walked and the second one reached on a hit before the hit that drove them in, but I could be wrong. Nonetheless it sounds like it was a great game. I should have made the drive to watch it. I also heard that HJ had many chances as well. Supposedly in the 2nd inning Sparks walked the first 3 to load the bases and then struck out the next three. Talk about working out of a jam!!!
HJSimps06 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 I'm almost positive the rule states that the baserunners get 3 feet on each side of the bag, i was at the game and benson was clearly in the 3 foot margin avoiding the tag...good call by the umpires
mustangs_2007 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 i was at the game and the stangs scored their runs like this terry veitch led off the inning with a single then jacoby franks had an infield single then micheal theriot had a sac bunt so runners on 2nd and 3rd greg barclay struck out then tim mcclelland had the two run single so they didnt score off walks i dont know what the hj peopole was talkin bout
highlightman Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 HJ had the bases loaded with less than 2 outs in back to back innings...Sparks either walked them or struck them out...either way...HJ wasnt touching Sparks...great win for the mustangs
Homer Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 I just read on KOGT that Sparks had 17 k's, not 16. WOW!!!!
Homer Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 H-J did not throw their #1 7 innings on Thurs. He pitched 1 inning over the weekend. Last start was last Tuesday. H-J wins this game 6-0! ????? 2-1 Stangs
uniden Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Im looking forward to seeing BC and WOS square off in a couple weeks. It should be a good one with Sparks againts Haymon or Angelle.
