Curly Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 Coach Robbins had a great run for the Bulldogs. Will they stay in house for the new coach or bring back an alumni? Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 I vote for Smitster to be next ball coach at NED. ;) ✊Quote
fox Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 it will be interesting to see the list of candidates. wonder if kyle green will apply? Quote
KABrother Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 Where is Coach Robbins going I heard a rumor after last season he was offered a position at a local plant and nearly took it...not sure if it's still there for him or if that is actually the case. I think Bryan Spell would be a top in-house & Alumni candidate. Quote
Tee Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 Chad Landry from Bridge City would be a great choice. Head Coach exp at one of the premier programs in the State for the last 25 years. We should be lucky if he applies. School Board should recruit him to take the position. Spell has a great gig Admin pay and I am told paid on the side for football by the hour ---- not a stipend like all the others. May not be able to do Prin. And HC at the same time. Agree, he is a good guy and coach. In ,y mind Chad Landry is PERFECT!! Quote

outanup Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 Robbins is taking a plant job, Spell will replace him....... Quote
Chester86 Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 He is the head coach at Timpson right now. Quote
Tee Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 Talked to a insider and this has been in the works since the beginning of the year. Don't know how this will impact his other duties? As in most cases they know what they want before it happens Quote
Gabe Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 I want to express my trouble with this being discussed before the man himself has said a word. Cody at this time has one concern and that's winning a series. The kids also are kids. They shouldn't see this talked about here or anywhere else until their focus is not on their season. Imho walldrill and goldenlady 2 Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Being that the team qualified for the playoffs and has yet to play that series, I thought this talk was a bit premature. Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Wait a minute: I thought the guy was gone already. Smitster going behind the name of Curly now? Quote
Gabe Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 I know Cody for fact won't talk about it until season is over Quote
Tee Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Told by another HS head BB coach it has been in the mix all year. Call it like it is and don't act like the kids haven't known for sometime. Quote
walldrill Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 So why not delete this topic all together? Now two of our local programs in the playoffs drug into this conversation. Quote
Gabe Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Tee - I don't care if president Obama calls you and says the queen of England told him the news. Why not wait until the coach himself decides when the best time to blurt out his news dealing with his team? goldenlady 1 Quote

Gabe Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 That's not the point. I'd leave PA News if the right job called. I hope everyone would better themselves Quote
Tee Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 why did the coach tell some of his counter parts and the SB? why did Robbins tell he team all.? you are not naïve to think they did not know? Quote
