Gabe Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Of course the team knows and of course some coworkers know. The point is....well you don't and won't understand the point. So continue on NDOMAKONG 1 Quote
Curly Posted May 6, 2015 Author Report Posted May 6, 2015 It was announced at the last home game, so I figured it was common knowledge. Didn't mean to interrupt the playoff run by the Bulldogs. Quote
Proud Dawg Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 He told his players, it should probably not be discussed until he actually resigns his position. He does not have to resign and take a refinery job. That is his choice and to my knowledge he hasn't resigned. As for whon is gonna replace him, no telling who Neumann hires. Spell makes sense, but until someone is announced, I wouldnt place a bet. This board is here for discussion of sports topics. No reason to get bent out of shape over this. Good luck in re playoffs dogs Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 If the issue was taboo, the moderators should have taken the thread down. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 I guess it's official now that Gabe wrote about ithttp://www.panews.com/sports/robbins-stepping-away-after-years/article_04afa54c-fe7f-11e4-9368-77ae5cdbe932.html rounder17 1 Quote
Tee Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 I want to express my trouble with this being discussed before the man himself has said a word. Cody at this time has one concern and that's winning a series. The kids also are kids. They shouldn't see this talked about here or anywhere else until their focus is not on their season. Imho Am I correct that according to the Pa. News Robbins told them before the season started? Or just Admin.? Quote
Bigdog Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 it will be interesting to see the list of candidates. wonder if kyle green will apply? ;) JoeBuck111 1 Quote
CThoops Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Spell would be the right guy for the job, BUT can he coach multiple sports (Head baseball & assistant football) and remain an administrator? Quote
KF89 Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Kyle Greens resume, head coaching exp.& proven coaching skills has to put him at the top of the list also. redbirdsrock 1 Quote
Tee Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Landry/ Green best local. I was told the SB/Admin told Spell he was chosen last fall. we will see as the announcement comes public. I was also told Spell recieves AP pay plus fills out a time card for football hours. would be interesting to see how much the District (we) paid him last year. Nephew still there or I would submit a public records request, it is available. maybe one of the media folk will do so like they do with BISD??????? Quote
bulldog16 Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Whoever gets the baseball job will have to have a strong football background. Mr. Buddy Garrity and outanup 2 Quote
Tee Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Whoever gets the baseball job will have to have a strong football background. WHY? sounds like a argument for Spell. Will he step down from AP? Quote
bulldog16 Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Cody was the head freshman football coach. I will just leave it at that. anyone that is familiar with Nederland knows that you need to be strong in both football and baseball outanup and CThoops 2 Quote
bulldog16 Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 chad Landry or Bryan Spell would be a great choice Quote
NDOMAKONG Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Green played football, Landry didn't. The football/baseball need is more about being efficient with district budgets Quote
NDOMAKONG Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 If my math works out, I'm assuming the district and me as a tax payer came out WAY ahead by having one person fill two positions AP and a football slot... Versus two salaries. But, that's just my math, abd I wasn't very good at long addition. Quote
Banned Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Looks like the way Crosby has manhandled in both sports they need a strong candidate from outside the mighty triangle region. ispeakjive 1 Quote
NDOMAKONG Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 I think Landry would be a great coach at whatever was put in front of him... And would be a true asset to any athletic staff. Football does tend to get in the way of a good deer season Quote

Just saying, you must admit that a ap, asst FB coach AND head bb coach is unheard of? That is my point, he must be a chosen one. Can you document any other ap/asst FB, head bb coaches in the area? Your turn, and thanks for the back and forth. I am a Landry fan Quote
Curly Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 I feel there are other quality coaches out there that would have very strong interest, but it looks like the main quality they are looking for is graduated from Nederland High School. Although, just that list would be very good. Quote

Do you Crosby people have a drinking game going on trying to see if you can make every thread about Crosby no matter how unrelated it may be? Enjoy the playoffs and try a little humility.
