TradinUp BH Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 This is huge for BH to pick up a win on the road. Hopefully close it out at home. Quote
adminbaberuth Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Assuming Carter Henry threw for PNG, did he go the distance? Who threw for BH? Quote
Eagle82 Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Way to go "weak link", "step kid", and all the other negative monikers we've seen on these boards!! Keep on fighting! Quote

Tee Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Seems like our areas teams can't find a way to beat these Houston area teams. Quote
bronco pride Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Congrats BH. Keep it rolling. Never count out the Eagles in baseball. Denny is about as good as it gets as far as high school coaching goes. Quote
HurricaneCal Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Congrats BH. Keep it rolling. Never count out the Eagles in baseball. Denny is about as good as it gets as far as high school coaching goes. Would definitely agree with that! Quote
ispeakjive Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 It is getting tougher for our area teams to beat teams from the Houston area. That area is a hot bed of select baseball, even into high school. Here, you may have 5-6 kids that really play summer ball where as I feel confident that most kids on high school rosters in the GHA play year round against very good competition. That is not to say our area does not have talent, but they definitely have more players over there playing throughout the year. Quote
NDOMAKONG Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Do you have to play non stop year round to be a great ball player? Quote
LandonWright Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Do you have to play non stop year round to be a great ball player? My opinion is yes. Too many others are and if your not then I think your falling behind. There are exceptions to the rule but its becoming less and less Quote
AshlyHasBeen Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 I disagree. There are plenty of great baseball players that don't play year round. Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Do you have to play non stop year round to be a great ball player? Not necessarily. You just need to play against top of the line players. Especially seeing top of the line pitching. Everyone needs some down time. Quote
LandonWright Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 great or good? Who are the great multisport players in SETX? I'm asking because I don't know so don't take that comment the wrong way. ispeakjive 1 Quote
BH85 Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 great or good? Who are the great multisport players in SETX? I'm asking because I don't know so don't take that comment the wrong way. Grayland Arnold is a good example of a successful multi sport athlete. Football scholarship, led them to co-district championship in basketball and is going to state in track. I find many parents misled on trying to have their kids focused on year round sport from too young of an age. You need breaks and other sports can help your development in other ways. Baseball is a good example where they are focusing solely on one sport too early. Look at the rosters of some of the great college teams and you'll see many of the players played more than just baseball in high school. You also see many pro athletes that even played more than one sport in college. Looking at UT baseball roster you'll see most played multiple sports including local Denny and Bellow who played football and baseball in High School. Quote
ispeakjive Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Do you have to play non stop year round to be a great ball player? It is not necessarily about playing all year, but playing against good players and teams in the summer, etc. There are a lot of great players that do not play all year or on good select teams, but the ones that do are pretty prepared during the HS season.
