In America, our flag and our culture offend so many people, but our benefits don't?

I don't think the flag in itself is offensive to anyone, but the things that we have done under the guise of patriotism are highly offensive to some. As far as our benefits go, compared to other civilised Western democracies, our benefits are quite menial.
