What's amazing is a lot of great teams have that one great player that they ride all season long. With WOS everyone contributes. They are a true team in every sense of the word. Crazy.

Won't know until the field is set and they will seed the teams based on winning %.  This series ended early so I'm sure Coach Landry and staff will be making some road trips across the state the next two days to watch some baseball.

99' PNG went to the state finals in football and baseball.  Finished runner up in both.

 

Congratulations  to the Mustangs!  They showed a lot of heart to come back and sweep it today!  They will be tough to handle with that  pitching and speed on defense and the bases.

No team in particular. I'm just saying that I have seen many teams that have that 5 star player but nothing after them. That kid that can throw gas but can't find a relief pitcher to save their life. Just a general statement. And yes, they have many of those teams also that have the talent but can't put it together.

Wos will be the 4 seed based on the records of the teams remaining.  They will either play the 1 or 2 seed depending on flip.

​State baseball tourney is set up like basketball tourney. You cannot go by brackets put up by UIL or maxpreps. Teams are seeded based on winning percentage. Top two winning percentage teams are seeded #1 and #2. Then a flip of the coin matches up the other two teams with those two.

Congrats to WOS on defeating the #2 team in the state, but better yet advancing to the state finals. Again congrats!

WOS has a shot to win it all. They have 3 quality starters, 2 of them are Div 1 and the sophomore Dallas is tough as nails. They have a very fast outfield. They run the bases well, 1-9 hit line drives. Fun team to watch.

Aledo won state in football, baseball and softball last year and this year football already won and I think both softball and baseball r still playing.

I remember hoping WOS would just find a way into the playoffs after their struggles at the beginning of district because I knew if they could just get in they could make a lot of noise. Great team and coach. Congrats WOS. Bring it home.

When is the last time a school has went to state in both Football and baseball in the same year?

​The closest any UIL program has come to the Boys Big 3 Grand Slam was Duncanville in the '98-'99 school year during which they won the Football and Basketball State Championships and lost in the State Finals to Bellaire in Baseball.  Gratz Mustangs!  Keep it going!
