Wiggins_Crony Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Basketball isn't really my thing but I think Cory Havard from Tarkington might deserve a spot on that bench. And I think I've been out of the sticks to see quite a few basketball games.
WH-BackInThaDay Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Good Job Poppa. I haven't seen many teams play this year, but heard lots about them and from what I hear, you've pretty much nailed it. Pay no mind to the CHILDREN who don't have any business being on here. It takes a certain maturity level among fellow SETX fans to keep websites like this one enjoyable and its sad to see redundant disrespectful comments that bring the overall quality down. This is hands down, the best place to get information on SETX Sports on the net, so please folks (some of you), grow up.
Coach 18 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I'd like to see this all-star team take on the Lamar Cardinals. I think they would give them a run for their money!
Guest IndianPride Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I want to add some kids. Thompson, and Kerr from PNGand the Williamsons from Vidorthey could come off the bench and give some good minutes! ;D
Guest neon_bodeau Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 You guys get your panties out of a wad. I'm just having fun with Poppa. He knows who it is.
diehartBuc4life Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Has everybody here forgott about Pickett from Central
basketballislife Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 add Chambers from central too!
setxslam Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 SE Texas all-star team? Â That's easy:1 Â Weldon2 Â Benard/Payne3 Â Donahoe4 Â Burrell/Sundgren5 Â DurleyJust kidding (maybe)-- that's HJ.If I wanted to field a SE Tx squad to whip Lamar right now, I'd start:1 Â Donahoe (HJ)2 Â Tramain Thomas (EC)3 Â Stephen Moten (Oz)4 Â Marcus Malbrough (WB)5 Â Richard Netherly (WO-S)and bench:Richards (Oz), Joseph (Oz), Walters (Silsbee), Sims (Warren), Antoine (WB), Benard (HJ), Burrell (HJ), Letsinger (WH), Powell (KHS), Randall (Kelly). My apologies to Busby, Bray, Haynes, Durley, Chambers, Copeland, Pace, Pitre, Buckner, Chavis, Guillory, Fisher, Malone, Savoy, and others I've overlooked. Â I could be badly wrong, and I haven't seen every one of y'all play. The fifteen above have a good mix of skills. Â I'd get coaches Sutherland, Davis, Lee, and McCarter to coach 'em up for three weeks. Â Then we could pack the Montagne and watch 'em run LU off the court. Â
PoppaBearstarr Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 I know who neon is he is still mad from me taking him out to the wood shed a while back. he was just kidding me and he fears the woods.
rhino1877 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I'd like to see this all-star team take on the Lamar Cardinals. I think they would give them a run for their money! What give the All-Star team a run? Or Lamar? I think the All-star team would take them.

PoppaBearstarr Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Man so many good player so few spots maybe I should change it to 2 allstar team, and just have them play each other....although I think it would be interesting how they would look against lamar.
hdbasketballstar Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Why not try it lol..and I still think somebody should come watch Marsh from Hardin play man that boy is an athlete. I think he should be on the list over Sims from Warren.
warfan Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Marsh is an excellent post, he could play on my team anytime. But if I am looking for a shooter give me Sims, thank you. Hdbasketballstar, Sims took two shots last night. Our boys under the basket scored 40pts, Sims did what he was supposed to do.
hdbasketballstar Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Yeah your right he is a great post and he still isn't on anybody's list for the all-star team...i just wish more people could see the way he plays...then maybe he can get some believers
omegafour4 Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 You have to put J. Brown from PAM on the starting team. He is sometimes unpredictable but you can't be in the top 25 in the country and not be in the line up in the golden triangle. There are alot of great players that I think that could make up the team. It is going to be tough. You have the big kid from WOS that was not mentioned I don't think. Also the guard from Beaumont Central is pretty good as well. The Williamson Kid from Vidor is pretty good as well.Â
WH-BackInThaDay Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 > OUCHIE!!  I tore my panties tryin to get them out of a wad... Thanks Neon.  ;D Just kiddin. Sorry guys, I didn't know it was friendly fire. I knew this sight hadn't had much of that. I should've known better. ....... :'( those were my favorite panites.
Guest JCfan Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Poppa, I like the 2 team idea. East vs. West or North vs. South. The bigger schools may have more numbers of good players, but there are some in those sticks that can stay with any of them. There are probably 20 excellent and 10 very good players in the area along with a lot of pretty good players.I would just like to be able to see the game these guys played in together. You could even do a small school side and a large school side.Sorry got carried away there.Good job Poppa with your picks.
bluedevil Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 how could you not mention any of the WO-S players off the All-Star Team.
