htownfan
MLB draft is tonight at 7pm... Hopefully the Astros draft Bregman from LSU at #2 and then Preston Tucker's little brother at #5. It would be pretty cool to have brothers roaming the outfield together in 3-5 years.
PhatMack19
Draft live now on MLB Network If Swanson doesn't go #1 overall he will be an Astro. There are 3 or 4 very good college SS's that are projected to go high. The Astros will take one of them.

htownfan
You work for the team?Unfortunately not... Just lucky guesses. Very happy with both picks!
PhatMack19
Astros get projected top 5 pick Daz Cameron with the 37th pick. Scott Boras is his agent and that's the reason he fell like always. He wants $5m and the Astros are the only team that can afford it. Could be 3 top 5 talents in this draft!Luhnow dominates the first 3 picks if he can sign them
KABrother
Quotes from Bregman sound like he just wants to play ball and isn't worried about negotiaions so good potential savings there. Good chance at getting a discount on Tucker with him having the shot a playing with his brother if things work out. Eshelman was probably a bit of a reach (even though I really like him). Probably could have gotten him in the 3rd so there may be another shot at an addition couple 100,000 or so. Vast majority of Cameron's bonus is going to have to come from savings on the 1st 2 guys though. #2 pick carries about a 7.4 Million bonus and #5 carries about a 4.2 Million bonus. To get Cameron to 5 they will roughly 3.3 Million savings. Similar situation happened in 2012 when Houston saved on Correa and were able to draft and sign Lance McCullers at #41 when he slid due to signability as well. That year Houston gave McCullers 2.5 Million when his slot about 1.25. Another note is McCullers was also represented by Scott Boras (as is Cameron) so the 2 parties there are familiar with each other in this situation. HurricaneCal
Not draft related but Bobby Bonilla receives 1.193 million dollars from the Mets today as he will every year until 2035. One of the smartest contracts ever by a player during his time.

One of the smartest contracts ever by a player during his time.I also read he receives an additional $500k or so per year through 2028 via a combo of the Mets and Orioles. Him and his agent are very smart!
