smitty
What he reads from obama's book Dream Of My Father shocks him: From the article and former Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren's book: "More alarming for me still were Obama’s attitudes towards America. Vainly, I scoured Dreams from My Father for some expression of reverence, even respect, for the country its author would someday lead. Instead, the book criticizes Americans for their capitalism and consumer culture, for despoiling their environment and maintaining antiquated power structures. Traveling abroad, they exhibited “ignorance and arrogance”–the very shortcomings the president’s critics assigned to him. Oren recalled his impressions of Dreams. Obama said “nothing good about America” in his memoir, Oren says. Here was a man “without a word of praise or gratitude to America” – and yet “no one was listening” to what Obama truly believed." Like I've said before -- what he TRULY believes is in that book. And let me add one other thing: If one voted for obama -- then does one beleive the same thing about America? thetragichippy
OK........Smitty, did you purchase the book and read it?Here is one review of it.Dreams From My Father is a remarkable story, beautifully told, and inspired by its author's divided family history. The son of a black African farmer from Kenya and a white American mother from the Midwest, Obama was two years old when his father walked out on the family. Years later, after many vicissitudes, Obama received a call from Nairobi to say that his father had been killed in a car crash. It's a book.....he will be out of office soon enough.......what ya going to talk about then? Mr. Buddy Garrity

SKINS
So a guy saw some stuff about America he didn't agree with, and decided to do something about it. Can't say that about most Americans these days. Sad thing is, many people around the world see us the way that is written in your quoted passage. The only part of America that most of the world respects is the fact our military could destroy them. Mr. Buddy Garrity
77
Any other candidate running for office would have been mauled by the press for the things he has said and done but most media agrees with him and wants the same thing he wants and they are afraid to be called racist. Since he has been in office the debt is soaring more folks on food stamps less people in the work force median income is down and the list goes on (look it up its true) . He as turned criminal illegal aliens loose to commit more crime on the American people not to mention his open border policy and has divided this country and its people more than its been in awhile. So I would say he is having some success in achieving his fathers dreams and if he hasn't its not because he hasn't tried! baddog
And why would he call the Constitution a "charter of negative liberties"?Obama is a communist and so is Clinton. Why does this surprise anybody? The left is the socialist left and they made their millions in a capitalistic society. Now they want to take away from the rich and give to the blood suckers. Let them be first in line. smitty

This thread is about something he wrote before he was in politics. And if your right that a Republican won"t get elected if he runs on the constitution, bashing Obama will not change that. It's always better to promote YOUR agenda versus condemning the other party. When I buy a car, I want to know why I should buy YOUR car....not why I shouldn't buy from your competition. I personally am researching our choices and figuring out who I think will be best for the country. When it gets down to a few people from each party, then I will debate the negatives of the democratic party.....but for now, IMO it is a waste of time to bash Obama for something he did before politics....... new tobie and Mr. Buddy Garrity
LumRaiderFan
I have no problem with one candidate pointing out their opponents policies that they disagree with…many folks wouldn’t even know about them if they didn’t.It has become a battle of who can do more for folks at the federal level when in reality, there should be very few things someone should expect from the fed gov…important, but very few.Rick Perry said at one time he would like to make the fed gov as inconsequential in our everyday lives as possible…and I agree with that philosophy 100%.Sadly, many don’t . Again, I agree.....I liked Rick Perry.....He may have made a critical mistake last election and never recover.I'm all about less government.....I guess I'm just wore down from seeing 90% of this thread criticizing Obama for 7 years....I was all in first and 4th year, but there comes a time to move on.....This is all my opinion and I honestly don't disagree with anything you have said. I'm just ready for the next phase of politics....
